MINI Rally lights installed
The factory loom was way too short. I thin it was an R56 loom, gen 2 was a smaller car!!
Had to go old school!!
Installed using a relay and switch. Made my own loom!!
Didn't really need a relay with LED lights, but what the heck!!
Word of advice, remove the whole bumper, rather than attempt to unclip the grill, the top cowl clips are factory melted to keep from releasing.
Need to go out tonight and aim them!!!
Looks best in black instead of chrome.
Switch lights only when on.
Fuse box wires were dressed after picture wanted to show layout.
Power for lights from lug in back of fuse box, which is direct battery power, added inline fuse.
Power for switch to activate relay taken from ignition power via add-a circuit. Remember kids, those 5 slots only feed from the right so put your add-a circuit in
the right way!!
Relay screwed to fuse box mounting.

When you get them lined up, I'd be interested to see the output from those. I've been considering adding those to my Clubman. We moved into the far out rural territories, and the roads are straight and DARK at night, and there are many deer out roaming about that I would prefer not to encounter.

If I read correctly
Rally lights 1.5 inches down at 25ft
Fog lights 4 inches down at 25ft.
I caught a deer in daylight a few years back!! (Not in my MINI ) Unfortunately for them it was a Bambi, but good for me as it didn't jump too high across the road. If it was a Buck it would have gone through my windshield.

Yeah, fog lights you want low and wide, driving "Rally" lights you want high and long. I would go out to a dark, straight stretch of road, and try to line up the rally lights at a similar height to the high beams. If you can only line them up on your garage wall, line them up so they fill in between the high beams.
