Thats a Gen 2 MINI, you are in the gen 3 section.
Yes you need to fix that ground and crimp a new eyelet end on it.
I would check the both fuse boxes as you might have blown a fuse from arcing. Also the bolt might not be making full contact as its cracked.
Check all that and let me know.

Yikes. Check the fuses, maybe it blew one.

Also there is one in the engine bay and under the box itself. Main fuses.

I would check them all, one by one on the fuses.

Took a while for me to translate that too. I think he's referring to one of the fuse box legend icons.
This being a Gen 2 MINI post in a Gen 3 forum, some of those icons are different on the Gen 2 than for Gen 3. I think the icon in question (an engine with a lighting bolt through it going down from upper right to lower left) can be seen in one of the photos in this article in the howto section of this site. Center column, 3rd from the bottom, in the diagram photo

Yes, I was refering to there image where a lighting kind of icon crossed the engine image.
So here is the update so far:
1.Attached the ground cable to the engine casing . Image attached
2.Checking fuse: still need to pull each of the fuse under the passenger whell well to see if it is blown. The main engine compartment fuses are all intact.
3. checked the voltage at the coil packs connectors on pin3. all four of those have about 9.8 V.
4. swapped the starter motor relay with wiper relay and eliminated the relay as possible root cause.

You should be at 12v or around that. Sounds like a bad battery or bad cell in the battery.
Surprised it cranks.

Check that wire harness in the front right near the ground (maybe something broke in the wires) and if your coils are getting spark.

Yea, if they have a scanner, they can see what's up or run more diagnostics. Let us know.

Oh no that sucks, so it shorted and blew the DME, you could swap a new one in and have it coded to the car by MINI. We don't carry them as its a coded part. 12147601756 part number looks like https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=12_1407
Usually the main fuse (100amp or 50 amp) goes before it touches the DME.
