Looks like we are getting NEW OEM Taillight design!

Based on the video of the new F6x convertible, MINI is going to re-use the F5x taillight shape which will hopefully mean these new ones will be plug and play for our cars.

This article supports the claim that these are in fact the exact same shape as the F5x models and will most likely retain the same harness.

The lights are physically the same on the exterior. But given the ability to customize the lighting pattern (via MINI OS9) and their overall different functionality, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the wiring was different and/or the coding incompatible with older vehicles. That said, I hope someone gives it a go because it would be cool to see an older car with the new lights. Though if I’m being totally honest, I’m not sure if the pixelated nature of the F67 lights blends well with the F5X styling, but that may just be me!

They are made by OLSA Italy like the others and I believe they did this design due to the trunk/boot design that could not use the F66 design lights.

Yes these should have been the lights from the design on the F66

Based on the pictures it looks like this was filmed again on the florida keys. They filmed the last convertible launch there.

I was just their on a cruise and it looks like it was on the little island off the coast of key west. Sunset key?

That is fantastic, ECS. Please keep us updated if you hear anything regarding these taillights in regards to working on F5x models.

I hope that even if they are using a different harness, a third party can come up with a harness bracket solution to make these work. I am certain it could be done as voltage is probably the same.
