It's been a while since anyone's touched on this topic so I thought I'd add some information.

I took my Cooper S in for service and asked them to investigate the first gear issue. According to the service adviser, there's a shift collar repair kit available for vehicles having this issue. For reference, they didn't experience the issue and they're just taking my word for it. If I can get a service bulletin, part number or any more information, I'll be sure to post it.

Yes. Can do it. Once going up a hill with speed bumps!

I meant in terms of spirited driving either on a track or a back road. I feel like it's a huge jump from second gearz

Not really. Basically starting from a stop, and maybe navigating through a parking garage.

F56 s Mini Cooper 2016 (automatic..)

I sort of have a problem with my 1st gear to second gear and then trying to smoothly deliver power. It’s been 3 years since I had my car and I don’t hear the turbo spool anymore when I first got it lol. I know the car likes to boost power in 1st and second gear and then deliver the power smoothly but I have problem lagging in power shift in the beginning. Should I tell my dealer to run diagnostics? If so, will it cost. I still got warranty want to put it to use if I can
