Everyone -
I wanted to let you know that I found out from MINI this morning that Division-level awards under the MINI SCCA contingency program awards are only offered for placing 1,2, or 3 in season points in your region. This means that while you can run any Divisional event in your area you are not eligble for award money for high placement. Here is the response from Kevin Philips (MINI Product Manager and Manager of the MINI Contingency program):

>Hi Mark,
>
>The Divisional is awarded to the top points leader in the Division over the
>season. We wanted to award at that level just incase those people did not
>choose to go to the Nationals, or did not do well at the Nationals. We
>wanted to make sure they got recognized for the hard work.

>BMW of North America, LLC

1,2, or 3rd placement at National Tour events, Pro Solo, Pro Finale, and National Championships do offer award money through the program given that class number minimums are met.

For more information on the program be sure to visit the "MINI USA Awards" link on TEAM MCO

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't read it that way. That changes some plans.

I read it that way from the begining.... To pay out for each divisional event would cost MINI alot of Money... Still I am very Happy they are paying for season points positions at the Divisional level.... I have one more SEDiv event to go and even after missing the first event and only placing 5th in the second I still hope to move up to 3rd or 2nd for the season and get my first Contingency payment ever!!!!!

If you are reading, Thank You MINI USA for supporting Solo 2 racers country wide...

Agreed....kudos to Kevin Philips and MINI for bringing this program to life! A lot of other brands won't even consider this type of program.
