Help me figure out my SCCA class.
#1
I compete up here in Toronto in the BMWCC autocross where they've classed the MINIs as "BMW Front Wheel Drive" which puts them in their own class. However this autocross isn't anywhere near as large and competitive as the SCCA events in the US. There is an SCCA event coming up at the end of the month at Batavia International Motorsports Park in western NY that I was thinking of attending. I was wondering how my mods effect my placement in SCCA SOLO II events? I've got the following:
Rogue Intake (Intake mod)
Magnaflow
Madness Sway Bar
Helix P&D Pulley.
From reading the following URL:

It sounds like I would be classed as STX however I'm not sure about the pulley which might put me into street modified, where I wouldn't stand a chance. Not that I stand a chance in STX considering my limited suspension mods. Can those more familar with the SCCA classes provide some assistance? Can you also give me an idea of what other cars I would be up against in this class? I'm sure I'm going to be pasted but it's still fun.

Paul,
Glad to assist. Unfortunately, due to the pulley change, you are forced into Street Mod (SM). If it were not for that you would be eligable for STX or Street Prepared (if you were to run R Compound tires). Sorry I can 't provide you better news. Regardless of your classification you'll have a lot of fun!

I was affraid of that. I knew that Randy was running STX and with his mods I figured we'd be in the same class. Does he run a seperate car for Autocross?
If I was to get a stock size pulley and swap before each event would that be legal? Even though it's a different pulley it would be the same size.

You could neglect to say anything about the pulley. I doubt that you would be screwing anyones points effforts and you could be classed with your friend. Depending on the course you might do ok in SM. What is the date for this as I am in Erie, PA and am always looking for a place to autox

Nah, don't like to do that. I'll take whatever class I'm assigned but my hope was to be in STX not SM.
