Two MINI's entered in USTCC at the San Jose Grand Prix
Two MINI Cooper S's were campaigned in the San Jose Grand Prix this past weekend. Both cars were entered in the NASA United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC). Vesko Kozarov #98 Chili Red and White and Rich Peterson #58 Jet Black. Vesko's car was knocked out in the 5th lap and DNF'd. Rich Peterson's car was involved in an incindent with a BMW on lap 16 but was able to finish.

Vesko was involved with a BMW on lap 6 just before turn 11 back on to the main straight. Both cars were knocked out. Vesko I believe qualified 5th based on Friday and Saturday qualifying.
Our car MINI #58 was DQ for hitting the BMW #17 in turn 4 on lap 16. We appealed the DQ and was awarded 23rd. We were hit at the start of the race on our left front by the Ford Focus and some debris went under our car. From the damaged inspection after the race, it appears that this debris ripped our wheel sensor lead for the ABS. On lap 16 the ABS completly failed, this is why we hit car #17, we had braking then we didn't.
On a better subject USTCC will be racing at Infinion on October 8/9 for the season closer. We'll be there with the Bergman/ MINIdeck Motorsports #58 MINI, stop by and say high if you are going.

I'm signed up for HPDE that weekend at Infineon.
I'll be sure to stop by. Would love to help out with any pit crew duties.

Depending on the paddock layout and where USTCC is located you are welcome to join us in our paddock. The more MINI's the better. Looking forward to seeing you and your #68 MINI
