2006 NAM F1 challenge

F1 fans it is nearly time to do it all over again!

If you weren't in on the 2005 edition, Go to www.picksix.com and tell the little comish (commish@picksix.com) that you want in on the NAM F1 Challenge.

The main prize is a hearty handshake and the pride in knowing a little more about F1 that Schumi will win every race.

I can hardly wait the next 18 days!

Good Doctor,

I assume that those of us on the 2005 team are "pre-registered" for '06, right? Also, thanks for the contact for little commish for those of us who weren't part of last years challenge but want to join for '06. I just might have a few friends and family members sign up in these next few days.

MGCMAN: I think we are pre-registered. I have been participating in picksix since 2000 or 2001 and I don't remember ever having to re-register. Though I did ask the little commish to set up the NAM F1 Challenge.

I have signed up and gotten confirmation from the commish. Now, how do I participate in the NAM league?

Did you E-mail the Little Commish telling him that you want in on the NAM F1 Challenge?

Doing so allows you to compete in both leagues. He posts NAM standings as well as an overall F1 standings

Just checking it wasn't a typo - figured you might have meant last year - I'll check the "archive" when I get home.

Wow, just saw this. Hopefully this will keep me in the loop on the F1 and IRL seasons this year. I usually only manage to catch the races that are in town. :-)

Doc, is there a place in town where I can watch the race? Er, actually, probably not, as it looks like it starts at 7am. Bummer. I'll keep an eye on the 'net for possible downloads.

DrDiff,
I also picked Heidfeld for 5th - what lead you to that pick?

OK results..

Alonso, Schumi, Kimi, Button, JPM,Webber. Very interesting this year. Top 3 picks may be easy, but several strong teams may make the bottom3 picks more difficult.

I think that I am sitting on 36+ points I don't think we get a first win bonus on the first race... we'll see.

Heidfeld was chosen more for his team rather than the driver.

Here is to a good season and a compeditive NAM F1 Challenge.

I probably think a bit more of Nick . . . and less of the team, although I hope to see BMW become truly competitive.

Ahhh, looks like the F1 gods were shining on my little corner of the universe today. By my calculations I got 40 for the first race, including perfect results for positions 4 through 6. Not bad for shooting blind, like we all gotta do for the first race or two. I'm concerned about Renault's hydraulic failure in Fisi's car, BMW's meltdown, Toyota's miserable performance across the board and Kimi's qualifying suspension breakdown. Great performance from Cosworth (nobody does V-8s like they do)!!! Good effort from the Toro Rosso kids - running the only dinosaur V-10 in the field. Kudos to N. Rosberg, imagine setting fastest lap in his F1 debut.

Boys (and Girls) looks like we've got a racin season on our hands!

Man, the qualifying speed trap and sector times mislead me to Heidfeld – as was said "shooting blind."

Awesome to see 6 different teams in the points. I’m most surprised at how well Williams did. Great to see Scott Speed with the 9th fastest lap bettering both Red Bull drivers, and the Williams guys having 1st & 4th fastest laps/finishing 6th & 7th – guess parting with BMW was very, very good for them.

Has anyone noticed anything odd at PickSix recently? I'll start....

If you go to our results page for Bahrain there are 10 of us listed, but if you go to our league standings page there are only 6.

Also, how does the top scorer end up with 62 points? Isn't the max 60 when there are no bonus points available?
