Cracked windshield, with rain sensor
Allright,
I have only had Pam for 3 weeks and today a rock flew up and cracked the windshield. Is this a dealer problem, or can any auto windshield repair place fix it? I called Bob Smith and they said a rain sensor windshield is different. It si going to cost ..... lots the windshield is 350 plus the rubber moulding, plus labor..... feels like 500-600. ouch

That's a shame. I have a small crack since last summer. Since it stayed small and clear, I've left it be.
My Expedition got a crack in year 2. The very day the new windshield was installed, a rock hit it again on the way home, leaving a small chip right in my normal view of the road. It's year 9, chip still there 'cuz I am not going through that again!
I thought I heard some dealers have replaced windshields under warranty? Or you may need to utilize your insurance. Damage is damage.

Windshields are replaced on due to stress cracks, not rocks.
