Amount of gas

How much gas is needed in the tank to avoid fuel starvation during hard cornering? Is there a baffle?

I've been down to the red line, light on. No starvation issues. Make sure you bring a spare gas can so you can make it to the service station.

Yup, you can run a MINI really low on gas and still drive it hard. Just remember that between the gas gauge moving faster towards the empty end of the gauge, and only getting 9mpg or so at the track, those last few tick marks on the gauge don't last very many laps.

I usually try to autocross with about a gallon of gas or a little less. I've had as little as 6 miles remaining on the "miles remaining" indicator after an autocross IIRC, and I've never had the car starve for fuel during a race.

Agreed... for the track, I show up with a full tank and run almost all weekend. For autocross, I show up with less than 1/4 tank and run all 8 runs and have never had an issue...
