I haven't done this in a number of years and it was a BLAST. I need new wheels/tires for SURE. The runflats howled like a banshee.

I was honest about my upgrades and bumped myself up to a higher class for the future mods I want to do. (ECU, Wheels) The Madison Sports Car Club doesn't allow point standings from one class to transfer to another. You have to wait a season.

Second place and I'll bet I can get down to 39-40 with decent wheels/tires!

Video very soon! Questions welcome!

Good job! Enjoy the upgraded wheels.

A question from someone admittedly ignorant about autocross in general: Why did you place with your best time, while the guy with the Camaro placed with his second-worst time, and the 240Z placed with the median time? What don't I know?

If you look carefully you'll see a +1, +2 next to their posted time. That's the number of cones they hit. Each cone is a 2 second penalty.

Get it?

Six runs! I'm jealous, we're lucky to get four. Good job.

Mark, welcome to MCO! If you come out to the Denver BMWCCA autocross events you'll get 6 runs and sometimes 7 during the day. See my post in the Rocky Mountain Forum for the schedule. Also feel free to e-mail me if you'd like more details.

Congrats on the racing, Jim! I too did my second in the MCS (though I've been autoxing steadily since '95) this past weekend. I need new tires as well - and a bit more seat time in this car while driving in anger. I took along the guy who got me into autox way back when (he's been doing it since the early eighties), and I got beaten in my own car by 2 tenths of a second. Last time he'll be driving this car... heheh!

Do they run an STX class where you race?

Got lots of compliments on that exhaust, BTW

Sorry, didn't see this until now. I will have to check if there is an STX class.

You got compliments on your exhaust? What kind?

Heheh. What exhaust??? Why the one you sold me of course! I like that Magnaflow more and more every day!

Where is that course you posted above? Looks like a go-cart track.

Doh! Sorry bud. I forgot it was you!

</DORK>

That track is just north of Rockford! (HINT)

It's being put on by the Madison Sports Car Club, they're NOT SCCA. YOu can see the rules/classes here: http://www.madisonautocross.com

STX is for SCCA. The Madison Sports Car Club is part of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs, and runs under the MCSCC rules. (Yeah, MSCC under MCSCC) I haven't run any yet, but MCSCC runs some nice AutoX at real tracks. They call it high-speed autox. Anyway, you don't have nearly the same classes as you would for SCCA.

Brandon -

Do you have a link to where I might find schedule information for these high speed autocrosses here in the midwest?

Thanks!
