I've been researching wheels to replace mine when my run-flats are worn out. I don't mind the design of the OEMs but they are heavy and the silver finish matches nothing on the outside of the car (only the trim rings inside ). My wife wants an all polished or chrome-like wheel, but seeing the black (to match the roof) with the polished lip makes me think twice.
Were there any other wheels in contention when you purchased?

You could always paint your rims black - it was cheap, easy and looks great (IMO)

When I was looking for wheels (and I looked for a LONG time), I found what I liked and then checked to see if any of the local shops could get them. So when I went to the Tenzo-R site http://www.tenzoracingsports.com/main.php?page=wheels I got all the specs I needed then called around.
Besides the Tenzo-R DC5 Version 2, I also looked at Rota Subzeroes and Torque http://www.rotawheels.com/wheelcatalog.asp and some of the Enkei (I think it was the RPF1) http://www.enkei.com/RacingSeriesSpecs/RPF1.html
I knew I wanted something in a non-gloss black (everybody seems to have a different name for it) and a polished lip. I also wanted something lighter than OEM. A nice site to check for the weights is http://www.wheelweights.net/
I also didn't want to spend a fortune. The Tenzo-R that I got are the best combination to meet my demands and I have been very happy with them.

Toolazy: Nice look on your car! I may go that way for $$s sake, but really want some polished look on the wheel too. I'll be interested to see how they hold up with some winter driving.
MiniCooperWill: Wow! That was a very complete answer! It sounds you had the same criteria I have for wheels. I'll give them a hard look. THANK YOU!
Merry Christmas to all!

Congrats Finner! That is one loaded MINI. The wait will seem forever. Be sure to keep an eye out on the 1st Gear forums. There will be others in your production week and you can track your baby as it crosses over the pond. The wait will seem forever, but it will all be worth it. You're going to love it.
