I have had my CROC #674 for about a year and a half. LOVE IT! just put new wheels and tires on. Finally found ones I liked. Will post a picture soon. Mine is a 2012 MCS convertible Chili red of course. I am starting to dress it up a bit. New shoes and socks yesterday would like to put mirror covers on in the black and white. where is the less expensive place to buy those and I noticed in my search that there are two kinds. Do just the cheaper covers versus replacing the entire mirror which works best. Also the number associated with the name like 56 what would a 2012 be. sorry for such novice questions. I am on a huge learning curve on this new endevor. LOL

Sorry you didn't get a response...this thread isn't really the one you wanted to use for asking specific questions.
But to respond to your questions, you can find several vendors in the NAM vendor threads that sell hundreds of lower-cost (than your dealer) aftermarket parts for your MINI, such as Outmotoring, and MINI Mania. I've used both and have had no problems with either.
Mirror caps are fine, and fit right over your existing mirrors and are held on firmly with sticky tape. They are a significantly lower cost alternative to replacing the entire mirror.
I'm not sure I understand your question regarding the number "56". If your MINI is a 2012 Convertible (I also had a 2010 Chili Red Convertible S), your model number is an R57 which covers all 2nd Generation Convertibles made after 2009. The R56 is a "regular" 2nd Generation MINI Cooper (hardtop), the R58 is a Coupe, R59 is a Roadster, etc.
You can usually search this forum for most any type of question you may have. Best wishes...happy motoring!
