I got my 2009 all Chili Red MINI Cooper S a month ago and I LOVE it!!!! Can I please join?
Premium pkg / hi-fi sound system / factory aero pkg / armrest / alarm system
Wow! That's the reddest of the red. You get extra points! Congrats!
Thanks!!! I love the red so much I figure I'd go pure. I was a little nervous when I ordered but did the happy dance at the dealer when I first saw it.
Hi, just purchased a Chili Red MC40 (kind of goes with out saying - the color that is). Seems like a good group to be with. 60K, a couple of things in need of repair - will get to them - got the car for my wife - may have to arm wrestle her to see who gets to drive it! Really enjoying the car, fun ride.
All I did was ask in this thread. Then a few days later bamatt added me to the list which is the first post in this thread. If you don't request a specific number you will fall in somewhere after #487. I didn't request a specific number and that's where I'm at. And Welcome!!
I have to say yours is the slickest MINI I've seen. I've also got a 2009 JCW, but it's a hearse in comparison! I really like the tracks on the rear window.
PS To those who haven't tried it, I recommend taking a driving course on a track. I did it in my '06 Cooper S at Mid-Ohio. My instructor, who is in his early 60's and has raced all kinds of equipment, loved the MINI, which he had never driven before, and was amazed at its cornering power. "Horsepower ain't worth S*IT!" was one memorable quote, as he put a couple of car lengths between the MINI and some following Audi S4's in the corners.
These courses are not about acting macho behind the wheel. They're about smoothness, finesse and focus. Look up as you drive, so you can see what's ahead, a few seconds up the road at speed. Know how quickly you can slow down so you can brake at the appropriate place. Learn the lines so that you can be kind to the chassis as you go.
You will come away appreciating that MINIs really are serious road cars.
(Caveat on the track. If you see a long wheelbase W12 Audi A8 coming up on you on the straight like a freight train, get out of the way!!!!!)

hey, thanks.
I really like how my JCW is coming along. I just got the wheels this week. JCW sport suspension is coming June or so, and I will do the JCW aero later this year. I have to keep this for a while so my wife can get a new car (BMW 135i) when the JCW is paid, so I have approval to mod so I'm can be happy with it.
And a definite +1 on doing a tracking school. It's the only way to fly.
Hi , thinking of putting a black union jack on my roof . Anyone have any pictures of a union jack or anyother style graphic on a Chilli Red with Black roof . Would love to see some pictures .
