I hope they don't scrape the hull going through the locks. They scaped the hull of that car carrier on that youtube show.

 

Yeah - that screeching sound of steel against concrete probably would be real upsetting to the captain of the Porgy - his ship is brand new and getting that first scratch would be upsetting!

 

Getting a scratch on a new Mini would be upsetting as well.

It's been a while since I checked in. Any idea when the Elektra is destined to land? I see it's a day later than expected originally.

 

The Elektra went into Halfiax today and it left. It should be in NY on 9/11.

Great viewing party today of the Porgy going through the Panama Canal over at the Week 34 thread.

Tomorrow, Friday, 9/11, will be an even bigger day. The Elektra will be arriving in New York at 7am. Banannastand, Blouise, Kencwallace, and Maui Meg's car will be discharged!

How do I know what week I am? My production started yesterday 9-09-09. I need a support group, I was thinking of joining AA but I don't think they would understand (I wonder if AAA would?).

 

Since I don't see a week 37 or 38 group, you can start your own. Start it in the 1st Gear section.

 

You are in week 37. Not every week has a support group - but from what I've seen with the Week 34 group, it is a great way to pass the time while you wait for your MINI. Take a gander at the Week 34 thread to get an idea of what you can expect from an active support group. There are several pages there - take the time to read through them if you don't want to start your own thread.

MA tells me my MINI should be at the dealership by Monday or Tuesday! I have my check made out, burning a hole in my wallet. Although I was originally going to wait and pick it up on Saturday the 19th, do you think I will? hell no! As soon as I get the word, I'll be catching the next train and readying myself for my first drive home

Hi Everyone- The owner's lounge today says that my MINI was estimated to arrive at my dealership yesterday. Have you checked the owner's lounge lately? it's the first and only time that it seems to have information earlier than or more than any other source that I have checked!

I may need to get a loaner to hold me over till my baby gets here.

 

I used the shipping/tracking site to find out that my MINI is onboard the Faust and was loaded last week. The problem is that my MINI is supposed to come to Hawaii via Port Hueneme's inspection center and Faust's itinerary says it's only going to east coast ports - NY and GA.
Anybody have any similar problems/questions about the tracking info? Am I just messed up or being messed with???
Woe is me if the MINI has to be trucked across the whole US and then shipped to Hawaii...
