Anybody have any similar problems/questions about the tracking info? Am I just messed up or being messed with???
Woe is me if the MINI has to be trucked across the whole US and then shipped to Hawaii...
I am sure it will be transferred to a ship going to Hawaii. It will be an interesting journey.

The wait must be pretty crazy, potentially. I mean they probably just grab every vehicle needing to go to Hawaii on one ship instead of the MINI-mobile ships from the UK to North America.

So potentially they have to wait until they have enoguh cars for a near-full ship?

I wish I was going to Hawaii also.

Track to see what port the Faust discharges your car. It would be logical to put your Mini on a train to Port Hueneme then board a ship bound for Hawaii.

RayRatt posted a ship schedule for Port Hueneme. Your car might be boarding one of the car carrier ships listed.

Here is a show called, "How It's Made." It is a show that tells how things are made. I found an episode where they make Mini Cooper seats although they never mention the manufacturer or the car type.

Part 1 starts at 3:58 to end
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjKqcPmBxPM

Part 2 is from beginning to 1:52

I love that show, this is the first time I've ever heard it done with a female narrator. Great find!

According to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen tracking site, Twiggy was discharged from the Porgy at 3:26 pm today (and delivered to the VDC at 3:30). And, it looks like all the cars unloaded have those same timestamps.

Hopefully, all five of us Week 34 west coast folks (JcMini, NorCalTinkerbell, MiniCrazy09, UAL_Kingpin, and me) will check the Wallenius Wilhelmsen tracking site and verify their MINI was unloaded at Port Hueneme today. Just enter your VIN in the "Cargo ID" box at the right of this page... don't forget this site will not work with Safari:

Please let UAL_Kingpin know your confirmed status on the Week 34 thread...

I tried calling the number listed for the VDC but got no answer - they probably have call screening and could tell it was just another MINI fanatic calling. I just wanted to know if they were going to process Priority One cars tomorrow.

I'm sure the VDC is tired of MINI owners calling them. I bet BMW owners don't go to this level of tracking craziness...
