Count me in as well. I have a 2012 Countryman "S" in auto. It is a blast to drive in Sport mode and I spend about half the time in manual mode. I have an upgraded exhaust and will soon be adding an intercooler and a tune. Should have one heck of a quick auto car before long.
One question: Does any have (or know where you can get) an aftermarket shifter for the auto? I love the look of the JCW carbon shifter, but it appears to only be for the manuals.

1st AT Sports Car...
....and loving every minute of it!
Paddle shifters make it fun, Drive makes it easy for trips.
I've owned three Miatas over 25 years, all of which were lowered with stiff suspensions, and one was even supercharged. They all had manual 5 speeds, but I'm sure I never shifted one of them as quickly as my MINI's AT!

I have a 2005 R52s with an auto trans and paddle shifters. Mostly stock, just a 15% pulley and a DDM CAI. Jan (RMW) tuned it at the Dragon this year and it is fantastic. Shift points are much more predictable, throttle response has gone way up, and my gas mileage increased. It is much more fun to drive.

Maybe it went a way for a while and they brought it back.

I'm new here but, I'm not sure why you say that it's the last year for Paddle Shifter's on an Auto MC.... I just ordered mine and selected the option to have it. It cost extra, but it was still available for 2017. I also drove a 2016 with Paddle Shifter's.

2008 Mini Convertible sidewalk
Not sure where to start. I purchased a 2008 mini w stuck in learning mode. Has the x before each gear.I took it to a Mech and was told that his scan tool could not connect to the Transmission control Module. Before I get way in over my head would it be wise to just change the module first and try again to communicate. He does have the correct service tool.
I have worked on numerous cars but this will be my first mini. Not sure what I am getting into. Other car itself is pretty clean inside and out.
Any on where to start and what to check would greatly be appreciated

fault: EGS, steptronic switch
Guys
Getting this error code. Transmission is slow to engage when upshifting in a slow to moderate acceleration. Getting on it seems to work fine. Fluid level is okay.
Having trouble communicating with the transmission control module with my scanner when I try to reset the auto adaptations. Anyone think it's a bad module? Car only has 55k miles? Anything that would make this fail prematurely? Anything else I should look for in the scanner or otherwise?

CVT Problem
Help...
I have a R53 Mini Cooper and have been trying to figure out why I cannot get out of 2nd. I have attempted to clear adaptations with no luck. The CVT will not go into learn mode. It drives perfectly fine with the exception of not going faster than 35mph. My next attempt is to unplug the transmission control module located under the steering wheel. All trouble codes have been cleared with the exception of the ABS pulse motor. The new ABS pulse motor assembly will arrive soon. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

The transmission fluid has just been changed (87000) and it was very clean, no metal debris. Although there was some black oily residue on the oil filter body. This was noticed when I placed the filter in a plastic bag for disposal. Other than that a visual inspection was done of the valve body and nothing was noted. Also ran a magnet through the small spaces to see if any debris could be found... nothing. My next approach is to focus on the TCM.

CVT Problem 2006 Mini Non-S model
1st-3rd my CVT is fine, Once I past 4000 RPMs' I experience over reving and the CVT will not down shift until I come to a complete stop. Also I cannot shift utilizing Manual or Sport mode.
Already changed the transmission fluid.
Attempted to reset the TCM by unplugging the Battery and TCM overnight.
Cleaned all the electrical connectors to the transmission
And no metal debris in the tranny or fluid.
Also waiting on some new software to attempt to reset the adaptations.
My current scanner when attempting to reset the adaptations displayed a code "EF 00,10, 31 No found"

This may help, it may not. Mini is listed in the back so it is based on this model. At least it should give you an idea of what has happened or cure your insomnia if you have it.
