What did you do to your mini today?
#2626
I parked mine in a garage at the Airport and flew up here to DC for some training for work. In 10 minutes time on less than 1/4mile of road I saw 6 MINIs and waved like an idiot at the 2 driving, lol. Even 1,000miles away from both of my MINIs I still wave. I even thought about tagging them with my local clubs card just to see if we get a response I miss driving already.

Well.....
While at work... You can see in pic 3, it was a shattered by a rock or something small. I Parked it right behind Gamestop. They have a camera on the back of the building pointing in that general direction. Lets hope it got who did it. If it did I'll ****ing burn their house down.

Those pictures are heartbreaking -- so sorry. I hope you catch the SOB who did it. Did they take anything or was it just vandalism?

They took nothing at all. Things they could have taken: Scanguage(just velcro'd on), iPhone cupholder mount, USB charger, $20-30 in change, umbrella, $50 wireless mouse, my software toolkit(All versions of windows from XP on, the two best versions of Ubuntu, Memtest, Dell OEM discs, Office 2010) and as can be seen in photo #1 a 2 week old Mtn Dew.
Also notice the undamaged Jag XJR in the background. (A co-worker's car, which was there when mine was damaged)
I don't mind if they wanted to steal something, if they are that desperate for $$ go for it. I have money. But to just destroy someone's property just to destroy it is just Heinous. If the formentioned camera has them on video, I will burn their house of cards to the ground.

It looks like you left your window rolled half-way down though? what's up with that? Do you think that had any effect on the window's strength?

However, there is a convenient tool which all folks that tune should use to produce a completely standard result - it's not cheap, but what price is precision?

Just a thought.

Since Jan often uses various dynos, it is not possible to know what a good number really is - there is no over arching standard for measurement.

I just replaced mine a little while ago with the IE fixed camber plates. Much better! If you compare the 1/4" thick plate with the wimpy stock one, you'll see why they are worth more.... Plus, you get the extra negative camber, which really helps the front end stick in corners!
Of course, adjustable camber plates are nice too, as long as you don't have a GF to complain about the bumpy ride....

Well let's see where I start, I installed the js art spoiler from out motoring
That right there gave me 10 hp, then I added a red belt line also from out motoring to the Astro black R56 that gave me another 10 hp, I had the dealer switch my BSH engine mount back to stock I had waaay too much vibrations in the cabin. Pics to come shortly I promise I almost forgot I got my M7 turbo heat shield this afternoon that will go on tomorrow after work, mod fever

Had the Flowmaster exhaust I snagged at a bargain price installed. Since I lacked the "straight" pipe from cat to the split, they had to fab that part, but it's 2.5" all the way back from the cat to the tips.
It sounds nice and throaty when you get in the throttle, while being a little louder and deeper when cruising. It's hard to know ahead of time, but I imagine it'll be a little quieter in the cabin once I unload the old exhaust system and put the back seats up. Nudnik has now crossed the line from cute to mean. No more quiet, girly exhaust note for me!
Pix coming soon....

Well it was not today, but over the weekend I went and got my windows tinted. You can see the before and after.
I also tore everything out of the inside of the car to replace the speakers. I installed a 2000 watt amp underneath my passenger seat, perfect once that foam is removed!! I added spray insulation all in the rear speaker cavities since it is wide open to create much better acoustics. I installed sound deadening on all of the panels, and left the stock HU in. The rear were 300w 6x9 infinty reference speakers. The front are 5.25 infinity reference components with new tweeters and crossovers mounted in the door, with all new speaker wiring ran to all of the speakers. Definitely sounds ssssooooo much better than the stock system. The front speakers did not come with an adapter, so I used the old speakers, gutted them, and made 4 holes in the plastic to mount my new speakers on, which then bolted right on. Worked like a charm!! Hope to create a custom sub box in the back at some point, since I have a 2006 I dont have a defined area for one.
