Took the driver's seat out and removed that plastic cover screwed to the floor underneath. Then i fished out the 2 quarters and 1 nickel that were in there sliding around and driving me crazy.

Then I put it all back together. I taped around the edges of the plastic cover on the floor so the change won't fall down in there again....

Well, I put the tow hook on today from out motoring . Also, I got the bumper cover from BMW as well, though I'm not sure how to install it (I'm assuming wet like vinyl? Or maybe just put it on like a sticker? Donno..).

Lastly, I have pictures of the engine bay showing off my cold air intake installation I posted about before. Grille is next, then vinyl stripes later on...

You have a HAM radio installed in your MINI? Do you have pix of the install (radio and antenna)?

Well here's some old photos, that give you the gist of it....

Took out the stock AM antenna (does not effect FM reception and if I want talk radio I'll turn on the local repeater!) and put in a NMO mount, and a comet dual bander

When I first got the Yaesu 7800 I put it under the center stack, the whole radio. This made my 12v socket unusable and eliminated all storage space. Then I made use of the separation kit and put it above the BFC (Big Fing Cupholder) but while it was highly functional it lacked the clean appearance I wanted and the location was somewhat akward, and the main unit is attached to the footwell interior cabin airfilter cover. So now I've sort of split the difference, the main unit is in the same spot, however the control unit is at the base of the switch bank so now it's more natural access and a much cleaner more stock look. I've got to replace the velcro with an aluminum bracket once I get a new Dremel blade though then it'll be a solid connection, I've noticed I get a bit punchy with my fingers when pressing buttons while driving.

Here's a photo from install #1 I'll update tomorrow with how things currently are.

And the external speaker under the parcel shelf.

Changed out the side scuttles with a black set. Also got a blackout belt line kit but I don't have time to do that today.

Slowly but surely the chrome is going away.

Kryloned They need a little touch up about once a year but for less than $3 a can I can't see justifying the cost of the wheels for a powdercoat (they wanted $250 per wheel when I inquired). Clean them up real good before hand and do 2 coats and it works great.

I installed the Craven Speed Flexpod mounts for the TomTom GPS and Scangauge a few weeks ago but did not have pics. Since then I also hardwired the GPS and got the rubber tray that goes in front of the cigarettes lighter. Here are the pics:

Kryloned, eh? And that holds up for about a year? Not bad. What color do you use? They look flat black, but just to be sure...

How many cans does one application take? And do you remove the tires or just tape them off?

I showed it off to the old motorcycle crowd. They voted to make it the chase car for group rides. What a bunch!

Then I tooked its picture. With the fisheye lens.

It's really very roomy in here...

Yup flat black, I got through about 1 and 1/4 cans per layer of paint. The first time I did it with my R99s I painted them before getting the tires mounted, ever since and always with the S-lites I take some cardboard and hold it in my free hand and block off the edge from the tire to block the excess spray, and being flat black on a black tire if it did over-spray I certainly haven't seen it.

Before leaving for work this morning - a quick rinse to get all the pollen off.

It was covered in pollen yesterday, and then drove home in a light shower, so it all just stuck. bleeecchh

It will probably be covered when I leave work.

I remember the pollen there, and the lovely yellow rings around every mud puddle. I was born in Toms River, and grew up near Lakehurst. Now I'm out in Cactus Country <TM>. Not much pollen here, but we more than make up for it in dust....

C ya,
Dutch

So after I get to work, landscapers come by to mow the lawn. Blow pollen in the air with the mowers, then use the blowers to raise more pollen off the parking lot and sidewalks. It's friggin everywhere.

Chili Red (with a Mellow Yellow coating)
