This is an unbelievably professional looking job, great work man! I wish I had skills and patience like that.

I was originally looking at the 3M DI-NOC vinyl, even bought a small sample to play with. It was really nice stuff, but quite expensive (32 sq ft is ~$175).
I then ran across this stuff on eBay @ ORBI Vinyl Supplies. It looked just like the 3M DI-NOC, so I contacted them and asked them if it was like the 3M material and the said it was just like it, even has the same 5 year outdoor durability.
I bought a roll of 25" x 33 ft. (68 sq ft) for $75 shipped to my door. It looks exactly like the 3M except different print on the release liner. I compared it to the DI-NOC sample I put on my Blackberry ~ 8 months and I couldn't see any difference. It works well, and you can really work contours well using a good heat gun.
I have a ton of extra so this weekend I'm going to redo my bonnet and boot stripes in the carbon fiber.

I'm finished, but the stupid rain isn't. I promise I will take a good pic after I've washed the car but...here's a crappy phone pic.
I can't say enough good things about Lyle. He's such a professional and yet when you meet him in person he's like your best pal. The first thing he noticed when he saw my car was the Helix intercooler. And he seemed even more stoked about it than I was.

I just had 3M clear bra installed. (Complete Kit)
I knew that Clear Bra over Stripes would show some transition lines but went ahead anyways. After it dries up, it shouldn't show as much.
If anybody in the Bay Area wants a Complete Kit installed, let me know cause my friend does Great work and is mobile and at almost half the cost at other installers.
5yr Warranty from 3M.
8mm thick film.
This was not a Hood and Bumper job. It included mirrors, atop of rear bumper, door cup, door jam, headlights, foglights, hood scoop, brake duct, inside gas cap and I think that's all.

Made a list of all that'll need ta be fixed at the body shop due to an inattentive driver from the Bay Area. Lucky that she stopped that Volvo SUV, after running the stop sign, just in time ta keep from totalling my ride. Maybe the appraiser'll see it like I do.
Yep, I'd had better days...

Both options are reversible, so you could try the plasti dip first to see if you liked the look (honestly, it'll probably look the same at first, but I'm thinking the vinyl will hold up better over time). I went with Lyle because his work has such a great reputation backing it up that I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. He's so ridiculously quick too, but never takes short-cuts. He makes sure every edge is tucked. I could go on and on but I won't. Have you seen his latest full wrapped car? Pretty sick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4vqU_TuqGg

I agree with you, I'll try the Plasti first.

the thump of mystery
when i bought Max here door lock wasn't working so i got it fixed and ever since there has been this thump in the door when opening, closing, cornering.
so used to having a car that made weird noises i didn't even notice for a couple of days then i assumed it was the window moving till i realized it wasn't the window.
so two weeks ago i called the shop and made my appointment to have them fix whatever was not screwed down.
well, apparently, right after i left the first time, the mechanic noticed his flashlight was missing.
PRICELESS!
and now i have a cup that will fit in my wee little cup holder

You can always use an adapter for larger cups...
