Not really to my MINI, but for her. I replaced one of the flimsy little tent stakes for her shelter logic "garage" with a nice heavy-duty cut-down fence post. I hope that will withstand the crazy wind on top of this mountain better than the original stake did.

Gave my Mini the seafoam treatment today. After applying the treatment my check engine light came on, good thing I had the AP to clear it.

Drove my first 1000 in my MINI (though not its first 1000 miles) and ended up giving a nice thorough interior cleaning! Rain is expected for the rest of the week and part of next so I skipped on the exterior for now.

Loving the MINI!!!

How do you smoke the tail lights? It looks pretty cool and since mine are getting a haze over them anyways I think smoking might be the answer.

mini4tide - I love those side skirts! Reminds me somewhat of the old R50/52/53 aero kit side skirts.

I almost wrecked mine today Was heading to class this morning, after a night of heavy rain, the interstate was soaked. I passed a car by slipping into the middle lane as my exit was coming up and quickly returned to the slow lane when I saw a line of cars waiting on the off ramp, so many that they were extending into the beginning of the emergency/shoulder lane. This is a very very long off ramp, so usually I can coast for a while without having to break before I come to a stop for the light at the end of the off ramp; not this time. I looked up and saw the back of a mercedes and glaring tail lights so I slammed on the brakes. Thank God I was able to stop in time. As I was slowing I was thinking if I don't think I can make it, I should be able to just slip back into traffic (no one was on my left), but I stiffened the pressure of my foot on the brake, trying not to activate the ABS and steered to the right of the mercedes, heading into grass if necessary. I have to say, I was really impressed with how well the car handled the situation and how it went exactly in the direction I was trying to get it into without losing control.

Blacked out my hood scoop, ordered vmaxx coil-overs, and put a deposit down with BFC to turn my halogens into bi-xenons. (I spend way too much money on my car...............) It will be black housing with red accent where the light is held. (Not sure what it's called). It will look AMAZING.

Also I called Mike at Aesthetic-Creations wondering where my black door handles were.... and he hadn't even put the order in yet from 4 weeks ago. So now I have to wait another 3-5 weeks... not too happy about that one. Probably won't be doing business with them again. Had too many issues so far for a simple order.

I know what you mean. Still waiting on my order, too. AC does good work, but as stated in their site, small operation, long wait time. They were away last week on custom install

On a more serious note, I have seen some spray treatments, but I don't think the quality of the finish is very high. I think that most people buy new smoked lenses.

More on the spray tint.

Last Sunday I was helping a friend with his '59 Apache Pickup and his son rolls in with two tickets. He used the spray tint on his tail lights and ended up getting pulled over twice in five minutes. They gave him a ticket for illegal tail lights and then threw in one for illegal window tint while he was at it. Also, the spray tint finish looked like cr*p. If you are going to tint your tail lights use a fairly light overlay, not the spray. This way if the cops do bust you, just pull the overlay off. Saves having to buy new lights.

I drove it for perhaps the last time this year with the roof open. It's getting chilly here in New England.

I did the VGS bypass mod. nice, even throttle response up to about 60%, then not much. But it was about the same before the mod. Acceleration in 3rd gear is better. Don't know why that gear seems the to have the least power of 1 thru 4. I'm still considering the 15% pulley, but haven't found a shop that's ever done one and don't have access to lift and tools to do it myself.

I'm going to get her washed and waxed today and grab some KIWI Black.
