well, it is back at the dealer again. Last week the radiator fan had a mind of it's own and the highspeed fan would come on and off after the car was shut off. The car would barely start and ran rough until I got going. The dealer said the thermostat sensor was bad and replaced it. Then earlier this week the CEL came on and the a/c no longer worked. I took it in and waited on it while they "diagnosted the problem" and loaded new software for 4 hours, wtf are they using to load it a 386 or something. Well, after 5 hours sitting at the dealer, they gave me a loaner. If the car has this many problems in 1year in various areas, mechanical (fuel pump, tensioner/chain) electrical (fan/thermostat sensor/software) and carbon build-up, how is going to be later on???
Not today but over the weekend I finally upgraded the pos stock stereo! Put some decent pioneers in the doors, a pioneer shallow mount 10" sub in the back, and a rockford fosgate 400 watt amp to power it all! A nice sound system makes my drive time 100% more enjoyable!
Yesterday, my 2011 MCS wouldn't start. After waiting for nearly an hour and a half, I watched the tow truck drive away to deliver my car to the dealer. I suspect my high-pressure fuel pump is dead. I had noticed some sluggishness starting off in the cold weather, but this time the car wouldn't even fire--it just turned over and over and over. So, today I wait for word. And try not to a little inside.
Had to add the Mr Bean top notch security system to the car. Just a painted magnet
I think Mr. Bean needs to come out to MINIS to the Point 4 this spring (May 19th). I have to see this MINI in person and you’re only a hop, skip and a jump away!
I knew Molly was getting close, so I turned her off when we pulled into the garage at home and then remembered...hey...your Baby might have hit a "Milestone" tonight, so I turned her back on and sure enough this is what I saw!!

Tomorrow I will be changing my break-in oil, I'm just about to hit 3k miles. My dealership charges $72 for an out of pocket oil change, which I thought was pretty reasonable compared to a lot of the quotes I've seen others post on NAM.
Try OUT MOTORING, I know they have faces fot the R50/53.
What did I do to my MINI today?
Well I went out and wiped the dust off of it, and began work smoothing out more fiberglass. I also started to wonder what it would of been like if I went a different route with my build.

Keep me posted and me, the Mr Beanmobile and Teddy will surely try and make it
COMPLETELY different attitude to the mini with the new wheels, AND my first compliment came while I was bolting them on...from a FEMALE neighbor(!).
For those interested, I got them from Tire Rack, and they have Conti DWS 205/55/16's on them. Kinda floaty at 34psi, but I'm gonna bump that up here in a minute.
