What did you do to your mini today?

Technically it was within the last 24 hours but I managed to find an underutilized highway with losts of elevation changes and twisty-turnies and opened Bloo up to let it breathe. Then I came home and ordered some carbon fiber and resin so I can build him a custom airbox and tube over behind the headlight. I have a week of here for Thanksgiving and I think it's high time I taught my 7 year old daughter to lay up carbon fiber.
Man, I wish my dad taught me how to lay CF!

I'm working up an idea based on the Dave F. airbox mod that will let me use a canister type filter inside the box. That's on the back burner for a bit, but I can plan for free while I do the required repairs....

Took delivery of my JCW today! But I curbed one of the winter rims already. Too much of a clutz sometimes, I shouldn't be allowed to have nice things.

It's not too bad but I have a feeling it is going to happen again. The wheels seem just a tiny bit too wide for the tires. The tire curb protector doesn't work as a result. I am tempted to use them as my summer set with slightly wider tires and keep the challenge wheels for winter use. hmmm.

If guys in 8-9 more years are going to try to impress her with cars I at least want her to be impressed by the right thing. Civics with carbon fiber hoods are a no-no. I want her passing on any punk with a carbon-fiber ro CF look Honda Civic hood. I would prefer her in the company of boys with cars that deserve carbon fiber.

I'm not as upset about it as I thought - maybe tomorrow when I see it in full sunlight or maybe it's just because I "only" spent $140 per wheel. Anyways, I live in the city and parallel parking is frequent so I really couldn't justify getting really expensive wheels. I was in an unfamiliar place, very dark, but heavy traffic and I am not yet used to the left-up motion for reverse.
Just glad I didn't curb the Challenge wheels!
BTW I am really liking these Enkei Imola wheels. At night they darken up nicely to match the Eclipse Grey paint:

The spokes on those König Feather's do stick out a little.
I have the same ones in black. When they where mounting the tires the idiot tech dropped one on its face, and pitted the paint on all the spokes! To make matters worse, when I asked the manager what they where going to do about it he said "Well we really cant do anything about it." I'm pretty pissed at this point and told him "I bought the wheels through this company, you broke it youre going to fix it." He told me tthat I bought them 6 months ago, and it could be prior damage. Then I explain to him Your tech just took them out of the original sealed boxes, and unwraped the tires from their shiping plastic, I ordered them 6 months ago when I was in Iraq. His answer to that made me want to punch him in the face! He said, "Well what took you so long to get in here to get them installed?" I just looked him in the eye and said "Evedently I was away in a war zone defending a bunch of idiots at a tire shop that cant even do a simple task correctly. Then I just walked away and never went back.
Sorry for the long rant, but come on you know it kinda brought a smile to your face.
