Christmas gifts exchanges and family events all done! Car is filthy and slowly turning salt-grey due to crummy winter weather. Expecting another 15cm tonight so trip home will be delayed. The Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero Serie II are adequate in the snow - but heated windshield is pretty awesome.
But my car is making some slight squeeling noises (water pump going?) and louder metallic noises (timing chain/tensioner or am I just being paranoid?). Oil level is full. Only one dealership down here and it's closed. Will have to wait until we get home.

Got it back from the dealer after replacing oil lines to and from the turbo. On the way home my intake was making weird noises, I had little to no boost, and when popping the bonnet there was an allen wrench snapped off inside one of the bolts on my hard pipe rendering it useless if I wish to remove it
On the up side, I'm not leaking oil anymore
They are going to have lots of explaining to do tomorrow morning.

Installed my rear bumper guard from NGP Racing today. Looks great! I like how it goes over the lip of the bumper and curves up the sides. The double sided tape didn't make as good a contact as I would have liked, however, but it's also held on by two screws. I also "installed" two "J. Garcia"(Grateful Dead for our younger NAMer's ) stickers over the pure ugly warning stickers on the visors.

Drove home from a family trip last night ~ 450km. Lots of snow when leaving. Car looks awful. The JCW Aero really does a good job of collecting the brown slush. Whole side of car is covered in grey salt.
Car was purring along but I've definitely got something wrong going on in the engine bay:

Ticking sound has developed especially on driver's side (timing chain?) and squeal/whistling noises from passenger side (water pump?). Does not inspire confidence as the car is brand new.

... just need to do something with the headlight rings...can't decide if I want to plastidip them....or carbon fiber wrap them....
#5217
Just cleaned inside and applied 'back to black' on plastic parts, also put a coat of Liquid Glass on it. Looks great now.
Getting my extra tire and wheel today, had a flat yesterday and no spare (not run flats). Never use the back seat so I'll stow it there.
Ordered my blackjack union door handle covers and skuttles this morning also.
????How does the plastidip hold up????

Plastidip holds up very well! I used it on my r50 when I had it and was flawless. I did the headlight rings, grill, and boot handle without any flaking ever. Very good stuff. On my r56 I did my taillight rings about a half year ago and so far no problems at all.
the best part is that if you ever wish to remove it it's easily peeled away and actually protects the chrome underneath

Ok, so it was yesterday, but I replaced the coolant reservoir. Easy peasy thanks to a small $5 siphon kit. I siphoned the coolant from the reservoir into an old spaghetti sauce jar and had virtually no spillage when removing the thing.
Next time, it gets a nice aluminum one, but for now, a stock replacement....
C ya,

Great look. Not looking to do it on Hobbes but curious: is this something you do yourself? How?
