That would work...I just used epoxy paint. Unless you're hard on the brakes all the time, epoxy paint is OK.

You sound like me, more for looks than actual racing. But it is fun to get on it every once in awhile.
The fatter tires on front would look weird.

[QUOTE=Zuman;3454815]Didn't do anything TO my Mini today, but I ordered this from Griot's Garage FOR it (any experiences?):

I've been using their products for 10 years. A little pricey but high quality.

We were driving to the Oxford plant today as a club. A lorry driver in a huge articulated HGV swerved to miss a car which cut him up and clipped the back of my mini clubman. This spun me around and my clubbie ended up on his grill and I proceeded to be pushed up the motorway by him for over a hundred metres, scraming rubber, clouds of smoke and me screaming for him to see me and stop..
I thought I was going to die I really did it was the scariest possible thing that has happened to me in my life.
My beautiful clubbie has the whole of its left side which in the uk is the passenger side scratched, scraped and ripped open.
I walked out of my mini, it saved my life...I am just hoping it is not a vehicle right off as I truely want it back because he saved my life..
I keep getting flash backs and totally traumatised by the whole event..
BUT I am alive...just now have to wait and see what happens to my car.

Glad you are ok. That really sucks to have your car all messed up. Hopefully you'll get it fixed and be back to normal again.

I've got the Zim's and EBC redstuff also. Been on now for about 5 months and love them. The pads still dust but not as bad as OEM's plus it cleans off realatively easy.

wow, glad to hear you're ok, that's the important thing. Cars are replaceable so don't worry if it's totaled, the Clubbie may be re-incarnated in to your next vehicle (that's the whole reason why I now have a Mini myself, my last car was totaled and it lead me to my Mini, I always like to look on the bright side of things and the brightest of all is that everyone is ok in the end).

Drove through the overly salted highways of Western NY last night, the wet saltiness left streaks across my hood, you could see perfectly the aerodynamics of the hood, hah!

Auxiliary water pump recall

Took my Mini in to have the recall work done.
Recall campaign no. 2012-008
They also replaced some kind of sensor on the brakes.
All under warranty.

good to know. i've only done about 30 miles in them now and they feel great. i stop faster than i did with the stock set up and they haven't even reached their full potential yet.

I drove mine about 300 easy miles and then went out in the boondocks and did the bedding in thing. 0-60mph and gradual slow, repeat about 3 times. Then they are bedded in.

I guess there was a reason they were going that slow.
In my part of town, you'd have to be doing something insane to get the attention of the local fuzz. They seem too concerned with ticketing red light runners than speeders. I don't get that because the speeders are ten times more dangerous because they don't seem to care if they hit anyone!

Wait a second! I speed all the time, and I care if I hit anything!

I can't wait for my brake kit to arrive. I got the ATE rotors for my kit, so I'll have the "orbital" slots and RedStuff working next week or so....

It's good to hear that even before they are finished with the "brake-in" coating that they stop well....

C ya,
Dutch

Well took the 2006, 38K miles (total miles) for an oil change @ the mini dealership
for an oil change, the oil pan gasket is failing (leaking oil). The service tech had me take a look at the failing gasket. this is a very expensive oil change. The luster of owning a mini is going away very quick. I have never seen a failure of an oil pan gasket ever on all of the cars that I have owned. @ 36K miles not a good thing, no excuse. The dealership treated me very good, the entire front end must be removed for this repair since the front of the car has been removed I am having the cranck sensor O ring replaced and the crank seal gasket replaced. Save your money for the rainy day that will come!!
