What did you do to your mini today?

I think you are being naive. While I have no doubts that Way, (or I, or any other competent mechanic) can install a suspension on a R56 in about 3-4 hours, shops use book rate. They look up what the job is and the hours in the book is what they charge you. No matter if it take 1/2 the time. That's how they make money.
To help you fix the problem, here's what I'll do.
Pack that stuff in your car, come up to my place, and I'll install it for free.
Way's a great guy, and a great resource to the MINI community.

Your offer is unbelievable to the orig. OP.

Noticed what appears to be the dreaded leaky oil gasket on Cyndi... I have a new MM 22mm rear sway bar sitting in the garage waiting to be installed, and I am still waiting on my DDMworks CAI and MM front stress brace...
Is the baffled oil pan from Way worth it if I am going to all the trouble (myself) of replacing the gasket? Anything else I should do while the car is pulled apart?

Cravates, If'n you're near Pittsburgh, join the PittStopMINI club (dues = $10/year), and come on by one of our garage Days. We'll also install and align for "free" (it'll only cost ya a 6 pack and maybe a donation to the shop that lets us use their lifts, and our alignment guy is a wizard. Really. Wears a cloak - well, maybe I'm lying about the cloak, but he's a wizard). Way's quite a decent chap, if you get down to MOTD you can meet him and his merry bunch of cohorts. Definitely not defending the other shop who said it'd be an all-day affair, since it takes us 2-3 hours in a fully-equipped shop, and another 30 minutes to get a good alignment on, but we're enthusiasts so we take our time. Good luck, man.

I finally got my new tires mounted on my s-lites. I picked up some General G-Max AS-03's in 205/45/17 (which I'll be swapping to some 17x8 wheels by 1552 once they release them and I get my hands on them, some time in the next couple of months I hope).
Anyways, here's a quick iPhone shot since my wife and daughter weren't about to let me go to a proper shoot

Door Pulls practice
Just bought a JCW and will be replacing door pulls once they arrive. Looks like pulling the entire 2 pc door panels is the only option. So went through the practice today to see if I'd need any diff tools. This is my second cooper. These things are quite the raging Larry's in the corners. If anyone knows of a way to not pull the panels, please let me know. Thanks, Rob

Over the winter months, while my MINI lay sleeping peacefully under her car cover in the garage, I had a couple parts media blasted and then re-powder coated a bright red, to match a couple other red items under the bonnet. It gives the entire under-bonnet experience a bit more flash! Not for the feint-of-heart.
The whole thing stemmed from the winter salt eating away at my Alta intercooler air diverter, making the powder coating that was originally on there separate from the steel, and flake away. That is bad; allowing corrosion and rust to form. Needless to say, that looked awful, and I was embarrassed to open the bonnet up at shows.
So, now it looks much better!
