Yesterday: motored back from VA. Giggles - even if there would have been time to swing over to you, the DC traffic just destroyed us.
Once we hit NJ we could finally fly. Picture this: traffic moving along at 75 but the occasional yahoo doing 65 in the left lane fowling things up. A yellow convertible Camaro is having the same problem I am with yahoos. Then a black GT Mustang. Then a white WRX w/black wheels - great looking car. We've all had enough so it's any lane you can get. We were all feeling it and for about 15 miles it was all out and all smiles!!! The best thing was that it wasn't a pi$$ing contest and none of us were cutting people off or doing anything overly stupid. Even better was that my little straight Cooper MORE than held his own. Not one of those other cars left feeling the MINI crashed a party he wasn't invited to. Even my +1 was impressed and also surprised at the fun level going on with the four of us.
Having shared this motoring adventure, please motor with care peeps. Had any one of those three other cars decided to have fun at another motorist's expense I would have bailed.

Megan as well. Ordered them from Way and he was out so Megan Racing drop shipped them to me. Of course, no numbers id'ing them on the box and when I had it in the shop for the other stuff my mechanic realized they were for an R53. Way called me and apologizied and said they should have some in by Tuesday and Megan is going to overnight them to my mechanic. Great service from Way, and Megan actually. He took care of everything. Not his fault.
Those look great my friend is on his 4th or 5th set of CCW's now he has an issue with not having a gf/wife, rent/mortgage, or anything else to spend his money on so he spends crazy amounts on his cars (which he now has 2 cars, 1 mkV GTI and a new mk6 Jetta wagon, both bagged and both on CCW's, the Jetta just got finished with the air install with hardlines by swoops and frame notching, the whole 9 yards). Anyways, I was wondering how come yours has 8 hols and not just 4 for the bolts? I'm really liking the red on your car (so glad you didn't do black ), I'd say drop the front a bit and you're golden... the fitment looks awesome
Yea, I think black has been played out, and of all the different wheels I've ever bought, I've never bought a black set of wheels, I always go for something different, a bit of flash.
I had these custom finished that way, so yes it has the 4 main bolts, but also the 4 holes that offset it. This was I believe "Swiss" style with the centercap. Which if you call them they don't offer it this way, but my friend who knows the guys at CCW told me "Get it however you want and I'll make it happen." So there you have it!
Thanks!

names are earned....it usually takes a while
my 1974 BMW R60/6 is named Slash....took almost a year
my 1987 BMW K75s is named Kato...took over a year
(i still own both of them)
i had a 1983 BMW R80RT, never named and traded it for the K75s after 3 years
it was a nice motorcycle, but not a keeper
bonus points if you know who Kato is!
it is raining today, supposed to be sunny tomorrow so phots then
hopefully a name will present itself soon cause so far I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!!

I mounted a set of new Bridgstone Potenza Re11s on my Cooper. Ran the old ones until they were toast. Even toasted, the stuck like glue. One heavy rain storm reminded me I needed to get the new ones on the car. If anyone wants to old tires for some track time, let me know, you can have them. Fronts are very smooth, rears are still recognizable as tread A little depth.

Installed my first grill badge holder...my nifty badges haven't arrived yet.
Took my brother-in-law for his first MINI ride. Then swapped places and let him behind the wheel, big grins all around. Fun times.
Plugged in my aftermarket bluetooth solution...works just great, now need to work on microphone location, wire routing, and so on.
Unwrapped my official MINI sun shade for the windshield...has its own storage pouch, how deluxe!
Made an appt for a window tint on Tuesday 4/3.
Noticed I'm accumulating brake dust already...

Trying to decide on next mods...
Since cooperflags never shipped my roof decal I have like $350 to spend on other mods! I've spent the last two days trying to figure it out. So far I've been thinking carbon fiber parts, vinyl-fiber parts, bonnet stripes, a-panel graphics, painting or vinyl-wrapping the roof black, and other stuff, but I can't decide.
I've been trying to find all the pictures I can of dark silver minis with different stripe options (viper, single, oem). I can't decide black, cf, or maybe lime green to match my yet to be painted calipers and ebc pads...too many options.
I ordered some of that di-noc vinyl so I can try my hand at wrapping and get a feel for the look before I blow hundreds of dollars on cf parts.
Suggestions how to spend the cash on my mini? Here is a recent pic so you can see what I'm working with.
The scoop, mirrors and part of the grille are plastidipped black, and I'm gonna redo them and finish blacking out the grille this week if the weather cooperates.

I did my gas cap yesterday too I was going to do my grill surround, scuttles, and gas cap but I didn't have time to remove the bumper to get the surround off so I decided to just do the scuttles and caps. I couldn't get the scuttles off (think I started bending the tabs that hold them on there since they're both now loose) so I decided to just do the gas cap. I tipped the cap over not once but twice while painting it (had it balanced on a can) and each time had to peel off all of the plasti-dip and start over (thank god that stuff comes off so easily), the third time was a charm and it now looks great. I now wish I took the time to take the bumper off since I probably set a new record for amount of time to paint a gas cap

I got around to mounting my summer shoes back on the Clubman. This is the first time since putting on the coil overs.
Sorry about the crappy picture, it was pissing rain and as you can see I was getting ready for a local community April Fools Day Parade which I do each year with the club for my daughter's birthday (that's me hunched over the front end trying to apply the tongue which is always a hit with the kids).
