I appreciate the sympathy. First auto body estimate came back at $1200, but that was their worst case scenario. I'm hoping PDR can do most of the work, and I'll take care of the painting myself. Unless they can pull the dents from the top, it's going to be difficult to get underneath unless I remove the headliner and/or pieces of the sunroof.

Btw, your comment is what makes this a car community, and not just a forum.

Thanks!

Today? Well......

First, she got tints:

Then...
A few toys came in:

New side markers They came with amber bulbs, but I kept the clear ones in (they still blink amber).

As you can see in the pic, she got new valve stems. I couldn't get a good enough pic of them with my phone, so I'll have to whip out the close-up option on my real camera soon.

Now I gotta clean her...sometime...

^^^ I'm glad I ordered the white side markers. My car came with the same bulbs that you show in that pic - I decided to move them inside and move the footwell bulbs out to the markers. But they blink white, not amber.

I'm glad that my interior glows amber, but I wish I had clear bulbs that flashed amber like yours for the side markers. You have a part #?

If you're interested, the cheap and easy fix to de-yolk the side marker is a light spritz of silver spraypaint on those amber bulbs. They still blink amber but blend in with the clear reflector.

AutoZone, and just about every other parts chain, as well as Detroit Tuned, and Out Motoring, have amber bulbs that have been diped in a chromish coating. Or you have the option of using the LED bulbs from the parts stores aswell.

The LED's have the longest life, and are the brightest, but dont work well with the internal reflective surfaces inside the light housings.

I gotta ask. Where did you get that Scuttle overlay? Is that something you crafted yourself?

Washed up the car and husband took it out for a photo shoot. Kind of corny I guess. I wanted some nice pics of my car. He did an awesome job.

Got it from Aesthetic Creations. They're discontinuing them so they don't have many options left. http://www.aesthetic-creations.com/p...?id_product=22

Thanks for the reminder, Kirby11, there were some stickers that I wanted from Aesthetic Creations and they were running low on stock. Ordered them this morning. Here is the center stack graphic of theirs that I put on Winnie the MINI recently:

It is a 'domed graphic', which means that it has a clear covering that makes it more substantial than just a piece of vinyl. When I ordered it, it was $15!! For the R56 center consoles, you have to cut off a bit of the center part, because the R56 console is somewhat shorter, but it fits great now and I LOVE it! Really wakes up the interior. Like an old British sports car... chrome, color, and a Jack!

Love it and what a deal! I didn't realize the Gen1 version was a close enough fit. Guess who's shopping now?

And if you don't have them already, check out the stickers that cover your airbag warnings on the visors... they are down to $3.50! And they look GREAT!

Have fun!

I bought the following goodies from Way Motor Works:

* DDM Works CAI
* 15% pulley kit
* H-Sport rear sway bar

Can't wait to get the package to my MINI mechanic to have everything installed.

Gave my car a quick wash down and took the polisher to the driver's side door. Some jerk wrote "WASH ME" in the dirt on my door. And yes, it left scratches in the paint (very visible in sunlight after washing the car).

Ugh, I just do not understand some people. Try paintless repair. That just totally sucks....

It stinks, but fortunately I own a Dewalt polisher, as well as a Porter Cable random orbit polisher. I used the Dewalt to take care of the "WASH ME" scratches. There are some minor polisher swirl marks left behind, but I'll try to take care of that after work.

Great looking vert. Like how the A-panel and the stripes work together.
