NICE! When my husband bought his MINI, there was a red dragon just like that on the roof as well. He removed it because it was so sun damaged and discolored that it looked weird. Now there's just a silhouette there, which now looks kinda cool

This is how it looked the night he brought it home:

Added a rear chassis brace.

No hardware came with it, and the OEM bolts are bit anemic with built in aluminum washers....so made up my own harware kit with SS bolts and washers.

Had some black sheet vinyl and red striping from Countryman Roof striping kit, same as the rear seat delete.

No more creaking from the plywood in the roof, and it definately stiffens things up.

Cost was $120.00 + $8 for hardware and $0 vinyl which I already had.

It's fully adjustable. Kinda more of an upgrade replacement for the factory hydraulic dampener. When the belt goes, the tensioner now will not slam into the crank pulley. More of a reassurance thing than performance.

Glad you avoided that tire. Thanks for sharing about the noisy Hankook's - I was thinking about them for my next set. I found the same thing with my Falken's and won't be buying them. My Potenza's, on the other hand, are performing beautifully so far; about 8K on them now.

My Enkei's are supposed to be here. TODAY!

Pilotguy,
Mudflap pics are in my Gallery.
Didn't have time to figure out how to include them in a post.
They don't look bad but I'm not sure they actually DO much.
Back end is still filthy...

Received my second set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS this week, will be installing soon... GREAT tire for a daily driver, stiff enough, comfy enough, grippy enough, quiet enough, sporty enough, with really good wet traction and rather good-enough dry traction. And they look good, for anything that's basically round and black...

Yeah, not as "manly" as an Extreme Performance Summer Tire, but... being brutally honest about my driving... most of my miles are slogs, I like to "wear" my BBS's into November when it can be a mite chilly in Pittsburgh, so a Really Good all-season was called for

If I'm in a sporting mood these are pretty dang acceptable on the street or even in light track use ("parade" laps, hee hee hee), especially since, if I'm in a MOTORSPORTING mood, I have autoX/track tires on another set of wheels.

^^^ Nice! Looks like we'll have something for the 'Show me you WHEELS 2.0' thread by the weekend!

I should really stop looking at that thread, BTW. It's bad for my bank account...

Installed the JCW Strut Brace purchased from MinMin2010. Wow... firm, steady and poise during cornering.

Thanks for this review. I suspected the DWS's were the right ones for me when I ditch the runflats, and you've sealed it for me.

Glad you like it. Did you find it extremely easy to mount?

I also just put on some conti extreme contact dws's and very happy with them. I put 205/55/16's on mine since my speedo is off 4mph and the 50's would be about another 1mph off or so.

I did some hard corning this morning and they worked perfectly fine compared to the run flats but way smoother ride.

So it turns out that my Enkei's are on 3-4 week back order through my tire dude's distributer. So we worked it out through Tire Rack - they should be here tomorrow (maybe Saturday) AND I saved $60.

I waited by the phone, hoping to hear from the dealer where she was towed yesterday, optimistic that there will be a quick and cheap fix to the not starting issue that popped up.

I also made silent promises to my MINI to detail her immediately, mod her more, and drive her on scenic and curvy hill country routes.

Yes it was extremely easy to mount but I think I need to check on the Torque setting for the nuts. I believe I saw a post somewhere that it is about 25Nm
