Nothing to the Mini, except wait on the new power steering pump cooling fan. So gave the wife's Tahoe a bath and wrapped the hideous gold and cracked bow tie on the grill.

I checked my power steering fan to find it bound up every third turn and popped the fuse, which is why my pump is no longer working.....ugh

Painted the center ring on the steering wheel flat black.
Funny how the simple / small things just make such a difference.

After driving my new to me MCS for 20,000 miles on runflats I put new tires
on today and made the most enjoyable drive since the day I bought it. 200 mile run into Houston was the best drive I have made in the car. Real tires
truly make the car.

These were not top of the line, Hankook Ventus but the difference is night and day.

Went through an automatic car wash place. I was skeptical but it cleaned the car well, although I did have to remove my roof rack in case it gets snagged.

I did that, and it bent my antenna backwards. It didn't break it, but I will not be doing that again.

Then my wife got a mini the week before last, and she ran it through the same car-wash, and she now has scratches in the paint. So lesson learned. Do not use a car-wash that touches your car, unless you want marks in your paint. The car was only a week old.

I got 4 new tires, (Michelin pilot super sports), to replace the super loud, madly cupping, Dunlop Star Specs that had 7000 miles. All quiet now...

Hmm must depend on the wash place? I think the one I went through was 3 cycles of soap/brushes.

Anyways, sucks to hear that :/ I usually wash mine by hand but I just wasn't feeling it this week I'll keep what you said in mind, thanks

Put a really crappy wash on my car. It just seems to have spread the dirt around.

That's exactly what I got. Huper Optik Ceramic 30. I wanted darker on the back, hubby wanted uniform color all the way around. He won. Next is wash and seal the paint.

I wanted an off-center plate holder but I didn't want to pay $60. I went to Home Depot and bought some bolts and washers for 6$ and well, here's my result. :D

Wow that is cool.

You should start your own thread about this, (so it doesn't get lost here) and also include the sizes of the parts you used. For example the size and thread of the bolt, and the size of washers, and the piece of metal you used.

Great idea.
