Replaced passenger front wheel speed sensor. The old one got destroyed by the stock crank pulley. Was hoping to get rid of the trifecta lights. Maybe need to take it for a spirited jaunt through the twisties so the ecu can get some readings.

Visited my localish MINI dealer. $124 and one hour later: Oil & filter change. Cabin filter change. Systems check-up (essentially the 30K service). Car wash.

SA said, "Our records show you aren't due for an oil change for another 6000 miles. We just did one last July."

"Cheap insurance, do it" said I.

I had an Akrapovic downpipe (w/cat) installed today. There is a notable difference. Next week, I am going to the dyno. I am hoping for somewhere close to 200 at the wheels with all the mods that have been done. I will let you guys know what I get.

BTW, so far, no CEL. I have yet to install the Akrapovic Delete R.

Installed my megan short shifter...that was a chore..broke the my gorilla of a friend bushing that holds the shift level in because to him "be careful" means throw all your weight into a screwdriver you're prying with. So now I'm going to have to get a new shifter box. At least I get to rock this badboy while I'm being careful

Took my MINI in for tint today. Good thing I knew nothing about tint because if I would have "researched" (read googled) tint, I never would have made up my mind. I literally told the guy, your the professional, do me good. And he did. Huper Optiks (spell) on the sides and super dark on the rear window for all the SUVs who try to bully me by riding my bumper.

Pulled my Alpine Radio (CDA-9884, best radio I've ever owned) in preparation for the new CDE-HD138BT, which includes HD Radio, Bluetooth hands free and audio streaming, Pandora and of course Sirius satellite.

I ran the antenna to the SVX200 Sirius tuner, moved my sunroof switch to the pass side to mount the BT mic above/ in front of me.

Already have the Alpine power pack to boost the sound/ power (don't want external amps).

Tomorrow just have to put it in position, plug it in and make adjustments to the HPF and LPF to make it so I can turn it up LOOOOOOUD like I like it.

Just need an SWI-JACK to make the steering wheel controls function.

What did you do to your mini today?-image-2365150825.jpg

One day, I'll take on the task of doing a double DIN navigation...one day...

That's the exact setup I have. The swi jack took 3 times to get everything to work correct. But it's great

Did you wire the swi-jack behind the radio or at the column?

Was driving thru Norfolk,VA on Sunday. Hit a pretty gnarly pothole. Didn't think too much about it.

Just minutes ago, was dusting the engine compartment and noticed something odd. Guess that pothole was worse than it felt. Inspected everything, seems fine. Except for the plastic strut tower cap. Rest in peace. What did you do to your mini today?-image-50919088.jpg

Rest in... pieces? Sorry, i had to.

Consider yourself lucky. I hit a large pothole and i ended up having to replace a tire and fix the rim. Cost me a grand total of $450

You don't have any issues with mushrooming? Hard to tell in the pics (could be the camera angle), but it looks like the tower bolts aren't pointing straight up?

Pretty sure it's just the camera angle.

I hope you don't have a case of mushrooming. My car had a mild case of the mushrooms after hitting a big pothole. I bought some strut reinforcement plates that sandwich the strut tower from above and below...and had to buy a new strut mount as well. No damage to my tires/wheels, though.

Tried to install a new c clamp cause I damaged the old one. Problem is I mustuve really over tighten the old one to the point that I can't get leverage on the other end of it to loosen it. Any ideas on what I could do? Or should I just take it to a local import shop for them to do the dirty work?

I feel like a jedi with BT streaming. Sit in my garage outside of my car, key 'on' and turning the volume up and down with my phone. My daughter said "woah daddy, how'd you do that!?" Like any good father teaching a child I simply said, "the force, obviously."

...and by Jedi, im using that term loosely. I'm not a member of the Jedi order; I went to the dark side because they have better force powers.
