We got a good bit of snow today, and I realised that if the MINI was my only car, I would have no chance at doing this.

Motored with some MINI peeps today - getting ready for a run in 2 weeks. Man, we had a blast! Although the sand on the roads led to plenty of slipping and sliding. All good though.

I know - I told him that pics of his car were wanted here! All of our cars were filthy, really so the shots I got of his car individually really don't do it justice. I'll give you this thumbnail for now. In 2 weeks he should be all cleaned up for the run so I'll have some full sized shots from different angles.

Woke up at 4:30am, met up with a bunch of other members at a car show, went on a canyon run, cruise on the PCH, lunch, then another 2 hours of canyon runs on my way home. Then stuck in Academy Awards traffic in Hollywood :( I racked up 127 miles of fun today!

I also drove 15 spirited canyon miles on zero gas. Both of my DTE computers read "----mi". There was no number there and I had zero carrots left on the gas gauge. I thought I was for sure going to run out of gas in the twisties but Pip and I pulled through somehow!

Set up the appointment for the nice Windshield Replacement Guy to come and do his thing.

The old rock chip next to the driver's side A pillar finally did the spider crack dance.

Luckily, I have zero-deductible glass coverage....

C ya better soon,
Dutch

Nice. The placement of the washer reservoir still cracks me up.

Sounded like the perfect day, although I've experienced that ---mi moment before and it made me a little sick to my stomach. Congrats on a good day.

Bought some braided stainless steel hose and some snazzy hose finishers. Now I have to measure and cut the hose. Plan on using it for my BSH occ. Also found the M7 occ that I bought in December hiding behind my tool box. Trying to figure out what to do with it. I know certain occ's can be used as coolant overflow tanks, but not sure about this one. Time to do some research!

Not surprisingly, this is a real concern for me.

Where I live, everything is cool. But I NEVER have sport mode on near the town where I work, it's a really bad area where we are based out of and I don't really like the idea of pops and bangs. No lie.

Did a horrible thing to my MINI :-( dropped my usn protein shaker in the boot and it spilled everywhere. Normally I keep a towel in the boot but this one day it was out of the car for washing . I got it home and cleaned it all up , let it air out and its never looked cleaner in there!

So far absolutely nothing. I've driven somewhere everyday since June when I got it. She's sitting in the garage calling to me! I may give in!

finally got un-lazy and installed my "new" lower strut to sub frame k brace by Donald-the-Bonald

Super pita since i dont have a lift, and the mini is too low for wheel ramps, and i dont feel safe under a car on jack stands. but it was worth it!

Really when you think about it: your snow tire category uses the softest rubber compounds, has a very siped tread with a good contact patch, plus a soft and squishy sidewall that likes low tire pressures. Everything that makes a good drag slick minus the fact that slicks have no tread blocks.

When I was dragging my Honda down the 1/8th mile out side of Fort Campbell every friday night, I saw my times go from the mid 10's to low 9's just because the track was so slick that snows where all that had enough instant grip to not just go up in smoke. Did I really care that I was using snow tires when it was 100 degrees? NOPE, I just knew I was winning.
Great post! I'll save my Blizzaks for the track once most of the tread is gone.

They actually work better the newer they are. All those little siped tread blocks dig in like fingernails, if they are too short they dont bite as easily.
