Why wouldn't you just take the hood scoop off and unscrew the plastic instead of drilling it?

I tried that several times, all it did was turn the hazzard on and off. In the turn signal switch there is a light coating of dialectric grease. over time there is a carbon buildup in this grease. This particular time enough carbon accumulated to complete the circuit across the contacts for the left signal. All I did was clean the carboned grease from the circuit board and replace with clean dialectric grease.

1st Gen JCW Shift Light

JCW Shift Light I picked up from www.penskeparts.com.

SET: RETROFIT KIT FOR GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR - PANTHER BLACK - Part no. 62130410113 - $151.14.

If you go to the Inskip web site they have an additional 20% off of parts this month too. http://www.imakenews.com/inskipmini/...V6p,bjLQ6lmg,w

All parts necessary for install come in the kit. Super easy three wire hook up with some really awesome dracula clips. Instructions said 1 hr install time but took less than that. This particular one is for the first gen MINI's from 02-06. Later models have a kit as well but mounts to steering column instead of dash.

For anyone who watches F1 racing and the in car cameras, it's just like the strip of green/yellow/red lights on the F1's dash...There is a small reset button rescessed in the top of this unit to shut it off if you want. When the ignition key is turned to position II and at start up, the strip of lights go through a ceremony of sorts....

JCWShiftlight002.jpg?t=1285200482

JCWShiftlight003.jpg?t=1285200517

The lights are seen in your peripheral vision when driving. Nice if your tach is somewhat obscured by the steering wheel. All of them flash when at set redline.

To set the redline, there are pin settings under the unit which are very much like the pins settings for garage door openers. It can be set depending on what your redline is from 3,500 to 8K RMP's. So it is adjustable for all 1st Gen MINI's.

A nice unit, well made, not expensive and easy installation....

Ordered a Sherwood medium walnut burl veneer dash kit. Just the main kit optional parts. Beelzebub needs a little class along with his go.

if you dont plug it back in you'll have to save up about $800 to replace the pump when it overheats and fails.

Gray Raven, nice job on the armrest! my MSC 03 is a 5/2003 production, do you know if the armrest is compatible, i thought there was a production date cut-off. Thanks in advance. BTW The leather looks lite it would match the Black Panther quite well.

Put a big oval exhaust tip on it and move it to center like an MCS. That'll really keep'em guessing!

I just replaced my PS pump fan with a SPAL fan, and mounted it on the frame.

I saved half.

I had to use bolts instead of screws to mount the fan, and I had to solder the connector from the old fan on, but so far it works great. If you do this, be sure and use heatshrink tubing to protect the soldering from touching. I also used some high temp electrical tape too.

I got my fan from here: http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/..._Code=30103018

I drove Nudnik around in the lower 3 gears for about 2 hours putting around in various neighborhoods.

It seems that every listing I see on Zillow has at least three homes nearby that weren't shown on Zillow that are also for sale....

Installed a 22mm rear sway bar from R Speed. I've got it on the middle setting for now. I'll play with that for a while then I'll try the stiffest setting.

Got the old drain bolt out & the oil changed. Got the Craven Speed Z bracket & Scangauge/X-bracket today & will mount them either this evening or tomorrow.

Finally, the Scangauge will stop falling off the dash because the sticky velcro it comes with lets loose. Yea!

Plenty of nervous energy so I just hardwired my V1 radar detector. I will probably wire up at least the GPS and possibly the sat radio tomorrow, and get rid of all these dang wires all over my dash!

Good to know Dave. Thanks for posting that PDF.

BTW, this past Friday, I was 2 cars behind you on Hamilton St, saw you turn onto Lake Ave. You were stopped at the intersection to turn left, so it's no wonder you didn't see me.

Nudnik finally got a bath at the car wash stall around the corner to knock off all the bug splatter from last week's trip to Sierra Vista.

It's stooooopid hot here today (105º and 50º dew point), so afterwards, I only dried him off with a clean bath towel before water spots formed, but later, when it cools off a little, I'll probably go out and do the bug/tar remover and Stoner the winders....

C ya,
Dutch
