What did you do to your mini today?

I bought a 4' piece of ridged black vinyl from Lowe's for $7.00, it comes on a roll and is 3' wide.
My wife cut out notches for the back seat supports and shaped the back to match the curve of the carpet, it completely covers the cargo area, with the rear seats folded down, and looks like it belongs there.

Took out the stock non-HK stereo, returned my blue ant speakerphone and installed the Pioneer DEH-6200BT deck. Today I'm going to get some speakers [edit] ordered some MB Quart premium components, should be here tomorrow.
I'll snap some pics too.

You inspired me to do the same thing! It realy came out good if I say so myself. I had enough left over to create an overlay for the seat backs when they are down. When not in use, I use that piece in the "Cubby" below. It's easy to take out and clean and does look like it belongs! I was going to buy a trunk (oops BOOT) liner for &67.95 + shipping, so that leaves me more money for other Mods!! Thanks for the idea

Did the fuel filter and plug wires..OMG!
Well..finally found myself with a hour to spare and screwed up my courage to change out the fuel filter...thanks to the great photo illustrated tutorial here on the forum it was not all that hard to do, but even with hands as strong as vices getting the thing apart to replace the filter is not a walk in the park.
Seriously, they really do not want you to get that thing out of there, but it can be done, and the resulting boost in "smooth" up through the rpm's is worth the sweat. The filter looked like it had been soaking in tar....I changed the plug wires too, as I am coming up on 45K miles and sure enough there was a smattering of rust on the No.3 terminal...
After I got the gas out of my eyes, and buttoned things up I took "Georgette"( '05 MCS) for an Italian Tune-Up on my favorite local road less travelled...you really DO feel the difference.Nice, very, very nice.
Think I will pull the intercooler tomorrow and flush it out, along with the pcv valve and do a check on the BPV...this car just keeps getting better and better.Gonna do a pulley and belt change next.....Oh, dear.

Nudnik and I took a ride in the little smattering of rain that accompanied the dust storm.
On the way back, we stopped at Wallyworld and I found, much to my surprise and delight, that Nestle is now selling Toll House cookie dough in tubs, made with no preservatives, just like home-made. Gonna have cookies tonight! :D
C ya,

Finally bit the bullet and installed my new speakers.
I spent the better part of a few hours trying to figure out how to do it without cutting anything, and finally decided it'd be better to just do it. These MB Quart premium speakers sound pretty good off the new deck, and the highs are a lot clearer than the stock tweeters.
I think I'll be modding the trim ring around the door latch soon so I can show off the tweeter.
I'll edit with pics later.

The Smart Car guys were really cool, and a lot of fun. The guys with the turbo ones said with a good tailwind they can run in the 16.9s.
Gotta love open track nights. Where else can you race your 17-second car heads-up against a sub-10 second monster. I'm pretty sure I could take him on the twisties though.

Left the country...for a couple hours
Took the MINI Up North from the Twin Cities into Canada. Meant to stay on the US side to photograph some waterfalls, but blew right past the turnout into Canada! People were nice, the falls looked good from the Canada side, too. Should have taken the passport!
Here's a pic of the ride home:

Cheers to all you other International MINI's!
