You inspired me to do the same thing! It realy came out good if I say so myself. I had enough left over to create an overlay for the seat backs when they are down. When not in use, I use that piece in the "Cubby" below. It's easy to take out and clean and does look like it belongs! I was going to buy a trunk (oops BOOT) liner for &67.95 + shipping, so that leaves me more money for other Mods!! Thanks for the idea

Took out the stock non-HK stereo, returned my blue ant speakerphone and installed the Pioneer DEH-6200BT deck. Today I'm going to get some speakers [edit] ordered some MB Quart premium components, should be here tomorrow.

I'll snap some pics too.

The vinyl is in the carpet section at Lowe's, with the plastic carpet runners.

I bought some cosmetics for her (car wash, wax, tire & wheel cleaner, leather cleaner/protectant), and then she got a total makeover: wash, wax, tires & wheels cleaned, interior & seats too. Pretty good way to end our first week.

Did the fuel filter and plug wires..OMG!

Well..finally found myself with a hour to spare and screwed up my courage to change out the fuel filter...thanks to the great photo illustrated tutorial here on the forum it was not all that hard to do, but even with hands as strong as vices getting the thing apart to replace the filter is not a walk in the park.

Seriously, they really do not want you to get that thing out of there, but it can be done, and the resulting boost in "smooth" up through the rpm's is worth the sweat. The filter looked like it had been soaking in tar....I changed the plug wires too, as I am coming up on 45K miles and sure enough there was a smattering of rust on the No.3 terminal...

After I got the gas out of my eyes, and buttoned things up I took "Georgette"( '05 MCS) for an Italian Tune-Up on my favorite local road less travelled...you really DO feel the difference.Nice, very, very nice.

Think I will pull the intercooler tomorrow and flush it out, along with the pcv valve and do a check on the BPV...this car just keeps getting better and better.Gonna do a pulley and belt change next.....Oh, dear.

Mad Gepetto Sends.

Nudnik and I took a ride in the little smattering of rain that accompanied the dust storm.

On the way back, we stopped at Wallyworld and I found, much to my surprise and delight, that Nestle is now selling Toll House cookie dough in tubs, made with no preservatives, just like home-made. Gonna have cookies tonight! :D

C ya,
Dutch

O2 Anti-fowlers were put in today to cure an "SES" light that's been on since the install of my RMW Header/Cat. Went on a 110 mile drive afterwards, and the light hasn't come back on.

<knock on wood> lol

Installed the auto-up circuit and put an "R 53" decal on the back of my cooper S. It looks like crap and will be coming off asap I think.

Installed a Sherwood walnut burl veneer dash kit. A little class to go with all the go-fast goodies, LoL.

Well. I did it. I installed the Aero Kit grille kit this past Friday, in the stock MCS front clip. It was easier than I had expected. I will say, the threads describing the process helped a great deal and I want to thank those that posted for our ease of installation.

Finally bit the bullet and installed my new speakers.

I spent the better part of a few hours trying to figure out how to do it without cutting anything, and finally decided it'd be better to just do it. These MB Quart premium speakers sound pretty good off the new deck, and the highs are a lot clearer than the stock tweeters.

I think I'll be modding the trim ring around the door latch soon so I can show off the tweeter.

I'll edit with pics later.

Took the Krautenküper to the track.

ET 17.454 @ 81mph (bone-stock, except for the wheels).

I gotta learn to launch the manual 6-speed better.

I was able to win one match-up...

Perhaps I should pick on someone my own size.

I give you credit for going where most MC's wouldn't dare - in a straight line!

I have to ask - what did the Smart car do?

My time slip says it ran 18.884 @ 73.7mph. There were two turbocharged Smarts there too. They ran about the same times as my Justa.

The Smart Car guys were really cool, and a lot of fun. The guys with the turbo ones said with a good tailwind they can run in the 16.9s.

Gotta love open track nights. Where else can you race your 17-second car heads-up against a sub-10 second monster. I'm pretty sure I could take him on the twisties though.

Belt replacement

OK, this was two days ago. But I replaced the serpentine belt in my 2002 R 50 and took a lot of pictures, and then posted in the "How To" section. So that must count, right?

Brake Light Mod

Mod'd my brake lights today. Converted the upper tail lights that don't do anything into another set of brake lights. Easy conversion, $1.50 and 20 minutes time and you double your brake lights.

Conversion with my aftermarket tailights.

Left the country...for a couple hours

Took the MINI Up North from the Twin Cities into Canada. Meant to stay on the US side to photograph some waterfalls, but blew right past the turnout into Canada! People were nice, the falls looked good from the Canada side, too. Should have taken the passport!

Here's a pic of the ride home:

Cheers to all you other International MINI's!

Motor on.
