General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
I saw that earlier, right now the Clubman Zippeeshades are going for a better price than on Amazon, MiniMotors is selling them for about MSRP. I haven't dug into eBay much yet, although it seems MiniMotors isn't selling those on eBay at the moment.
Moss was offering the the shades for the R56/R55 for a literal steal, but I guess I was too just slow.
fabbed up a custom fiber glass "air diverter" to divert cold air from my ram scoop to my cold air intake.....hoping this will help prevent the intake from sucking hot air from over the engine.
Had the dealership wash it for free, which they offer every Sunday (no excuse for a dirty Mini in my neighborhood), took her home and waxed her. Found out that the air filter had come off of the CAI , so I tightened the hose clamp and took her for a shakedown along Lake Shore Drive.
Went autocrossing for the first time. Defiantly going to do that again!
Sometimes my wife and I have a bit of a discussion about whether I'm going to do that again, so I, too, go autocrossing "defiantly"!!
AND... I too am definitely going again!
If you used "defiantly" on purpose, great homonym/homoglyph! If not, well, the cone landed back in the box, no penalty...

I guess between being tired and autocorrect I used the wrong word. It should be "definitely". Thanks for pointing it out in a polite manner unlike the way these things are normally handled.
I did a good wash and wax. I hand wash her about 1-2 times a week and wax her every 2-3 weeks. Its therapeutic to me. It calms me down and relaxes me from the week's stresses.
Also cleaned up my VGS mod. I peak at 1.22 bar now. roughly 18psi!
Does adding the scan gauge do anything to your warranty?
Under normal circumstances, adding a scangauge shouldnt void any warranties. The caveat is if the dealer can prove that the added scangauge caused the damage you are trying to get repaired under warranty.
Example (very unlikely, I know):
You mount your non-OEM Scangauge to the tach and when you go to turn on your lights, you accidentally hit your Scangauge+mount and snap the tach off the steering column. In this example, you will most likely not get the dealer to fix it free because the tach would not be broken if the SC+mount were not there.
Having said all that, the simple answer is plugging the scangauge into the OBD2 port will not void any warranties.
got my air diverter installed.......coudnt find the appropriate locking nuts at the hardware store.....so i used magnets instead.....seems to work pretty well
I opened up the honeycombs in my hoodscoop and installed my sub and amp. Amp is located in the drivers rear footwell since absolutely nothing will ever get put there, and I made up a box to fit my 10" I pulled out of the soon to be dedicated rally car in the boot where the tools went. The box is just a prototype and will be remade with some tweaks with mdf at a later date. Still hits real nice.
(sorry, I just realized how blurry the first pic is)
It is the same size as the cover panel that was there, can still use my cargo net, tie downs, put the seats up, ect... With the final product box I will make a new cover board and carpet the entire thing.
Yesterday I let my dog get hair all over the new car, and went for a drive to Washington Island. On the ferry trip back, i was the last car on the boat, and really got wedged in!

Gave MINIon a bath, but discovered water marks on the bonnet when I got done. Anyone got suggestions on best way to remove them? Thanks!
You could try something in the 'finishing' row of Menzerna products. They also shine it up at the same time. PO106FA or PO85RD if you think the water marks aren't that bad.
