Removed a nail from a rear tire and plugged the hole. Also checked the run-out on all corners... too much; I see new brakes in my future. Noticed another CV joint boot has started to leak. Always happens when I get it back from a garage.

Lookin awesome! All rattle cans, or did you use a spray gun?

Thanks,
I used the Plasti Dip in the spray cans. I have found it best to really clean all of the surfaces really well. I used Windex with a scotch brite blue scrub sponge. I also make sure to spray on very thin coats, then let dry for about 15 minutes, then spray again. I have been doing about 6 light spray coats for best results. I have found that with 6 coats its peels at the break lines of the beltline moulding exceptionally clean. When I did a test spray with 3 or 4 it didn't separate as cleanly. Also, with the 6 coats it is easier to peel from the painted and glass areas.

It is really a great deal of fun to do and it really does just peel off if you change your mind.

Those look really good. One of the best taillights options for the pre 7/2004 MINIs.

installed my NM strut bar from Way Motor Works. Overall I like it (even though it feels kinda flimsy) but does anyone else have trouble with it lightly rubbing the factory intake?

Mine makes contact too. I also have a grumbling sound the car makes when I brake in reverse, that the dealer insists is from the bar's contact with the intake. I don't know if the dealer's just blaming aftermarket parts to take the lazy way out of troubleshooting, though - I haven't taken the bar off to test it.

It could happen... Think of the way your engine rocks back and forth under acceleration... Now make it go the other way under braking...

Yes it could cause the back of the engine to rise, instead of drop like when you punch the gas. If it really bothers you think about upgrading your lower engine mount.

Used some never dull on the tailpipes. With 124,000 they looked a little dirty. Not anymore!

I have the NM strut bar with no problems. I also have the NM frt motor mount as well. I had the motor mount before the strut bar and have no rubbing, might want to give it a try.

Purchased and installed the moss mini carbon fiber gas cap cover. There was a small problem with my order and I must say the customer service/communication was good and I'm happy with my purchase.

The Ol' Lady's MINI, "Frau Blau" , got new spark plugs. About 36K miles before the 100K recommendation, but she idles noticeably better now. Checked the gap on the old ones, and they had opened up 2 to 3 thousanths of an inch, so that could explain the slightly rough idle.

The general consensus I've seen in the forums is that plugs really need to be changed between 60K and 70K. They'd probably function past 100K, but since 64K miles translates to 4 years for "Frau Blau" , why wait?

BTW: The special 14mm socket required to change plugs on the R56 is often found for around $45 on the interwebz. Way Motor Works has it for $15, or an extended version for $21. Thanks WMW!

I bought some discontinued Enkei RF-1's. 16x7 ET40, 15lb lightweight racing wheels. Never had tires installed.

May be putting them up for trade for 17's not sure yet.
