had full paint correction (wet sand/buff/polish) done, serious detail job, and application of GTechniq surface sealant coating.
freakin' a-m-a-z-i-n-g, better than from the factory. I cannot describe how shiny the WeeBeastie is now.
looks like someone poured glass on the car and polished it.
highly recommended, especially for black...
Installed a set of Craven Speed strut tower defenders. Thought it would be a good idea considering I live on a dirt road and we have lousy roadies here in MI.
finally installing my wheel stud conversion from Helix on the r53.
FYI 10lbs is the torque for the studs, and red locktite is recommended directly from helix themselves! it isnt posted on their website so I had to call them
I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. The reviews here, at the Tire Rack and on Discount Tire's website all pointed me that way. Consumer Reports also has it rated the highest. I wanted to get the run flats off and replace them with an all weather tire.

Great!!!!!! That's the same tire that I chose to replace my run flats. Giving my rf's one more winter season and then I'm switching to 17's with the AS3's.
Our Mini is a giant project. It's been sitting in a garage for the past four years. In the month that we've had it, every project that has been started has been put on hold because of something missing along the way... screws, expanding rivets, grommet, random parts back-ordered, etc.
But all that changed today! The driver door lock and boden cable have been replaced, the door panel is back on the door, and everything works correctly. The cabin air filter has been replaced. The passenger side panel has been replaced and new side markers have been installed on both sides. The reverse light has been replaced.
Now we can get it inspected. I can't wait to drive it!
Installed some LED parking bulbs from ECS so I'm finally all LED... Took the JB+ out for a romp in the Berkeley/Oakland hills with half a tank 100 octane, other half 91...
Wow. All that work for the torque arm insert is now obliterated by the power coming out the wheels, but it's a very fair trade. Would hate to have this sans that insert, it'd be squirrely city!
Got its first oil & filter change. Installed: NM short shifter & box cover, torque bushing insert, and new GP brake ducts. Then took it for a little drive!
