Thanks! Sounds great! Quiet when you need it to be, loud when you are on it. Best of both worlds really. No drone.

Off the line I would say there is a little more. You really feel it come into play and pull through the upper gears. The weight transfer is a bit more noticeable now with the stock suspension setup. May have to look into a decent coilover/koni setup.

I was hoping to have time to catch a quick video from within the car today but no go. I will post when I get the chance so anyone interested can view it.

Cleaned him up and went for a quick drive:

Made a home made 3rd brake light delete... And welded up the holes for the wing at the same time.

No more M7 garbage on the rear hatch... EVER!

Interesting idea. Looks good. What made you come up with it? Just additional space and did not need the back seats?

Looks good.

My last car was a turbo Subaru legacy wagon. and I LOVED having a wagon, i put engine hoists, garbage bags for the dump, w/e in it. It was so practical and good for skiing. I rarely have back seat passengers, and Me and my other half are getting a puppy soon so I wanted the room. very glad i did it.

Went a little crazy two weeks after purchase. Just bought this 06 MCS about 2 weeks ago and couldn't help making a lot of cosmetic changes to get through winter. This weekend, modes include:

- Removed faded & torn clear bra
- Removed original faded stripes
- Removed grill lines & went with simple mesh until new kits can be applied
- Plasti Dipped entire front bumper - (only because clear bra took off paint from second bumper after a minor wreck that was poorly painted.) Sigh!
- Plasti Dipped new stripes (Black and red)
- Plasti Dipped Mirrors (red)
- Plasti Dipped door handles, gas cover, rear lights (black)
- Plasti Dipped wheels (major curb rash) (black)

Whew... long two days, but it's finished before snow sets in this week. (I'm in CO)

Hope you like... Can post lots of "during" photos if interested in any specifics. While it's not what I want to end up with, it's a start until I can get "play" funds together to add an aero kit, some carbon fiber, decent wheels and the performance mods to increase HP.

I think it looks tougher with all chrome gone.

Enjoy!

Before - the actual day I drove it home from dealer (used)

This weekend did all the above. (except removed clear bra and stripes)

That looks pretty good! Where at in CO are you? I have a friend who owns a body shop that can respray your bumper for cheap if you want. He is up near Brighton.

Also if you ever need help with anything dont hesitate to send me a PM...

How does one "lose interest" in such a nice R50?

My R53 hasn't ran or made it out of the garage in over 2 years, I'm still interested.

I received my Way Motor Works EBC Red Stuff Brake Package Friday and installed it Saturday. Installation was pretty easy except the Torx screws on the front rotors were hard to get off. I had to use a Butane Torch and a lot of WD-40. I can't wait to see how much less brake dust I get compared to the stock brake pads.

I also need to get my car inspected and ordered new tires so I decided to do some e-brake turns and a couple burnouts. The video is not that impressive but it felt good lol.

My interests for Japanese cars simply outweigh my interests for MINI. I have an old TE72 Corolla, I've been itching to work on It runs great, just needs some TLC

I'm looking to replace my MINI with a BRZ/FRS, one ride in that car and I was sold Although, I'm also keeping my eyes open for the Fiesta ST or Focus ST. We'll see

More power to ya then.

The FRS/BRZ is one heck of a nice looking ride! They need more power if you ask me, but sooner or later they will release the turbo/STi version for that.

The Fiesta looks good on paper and in person. I saw one in blue at a dealer and it has a lot of presence for a small car. Unfortunately dealers want too much for them right now. They are priced almost the same as Focus ST's which doesn't make much sense.

Spot on. The other thing tho is that the Fiesta will seem incredibly cramped for most folks in short order. I know as we use both the Fiesta and Focus at the Ford teen driving events in which I instruct for. I've had road time in both and the Focus is simply so much more car. Once you get past the 'cute' (?) aspect of the Fiesta you start to see it differently after your leg has rubbed the center console for 200mi.

I get it, I did in my MINI for a little while. Well, I was interested in him, but recently became focused on another project. And then the OEM header died on him and I had to recently replace it. He is a much more interesting car now with all the parts on him. So for me, I am trying to maintain both now! (wife might be pi$$ed about that) haha

The Focus ST should be interesting...

Ahhhh a TE72... Very nice. 2door, 4 door or wagon? I have an interest in Japanese cars as well. So with the MINI, I build up both cars:

Thank you! It is a lot of fun to drive around. Currently, it is the stock D16A6 SOHC motor with 235k miles on it. I literally replaced every underneath the car: bushings, control arms, shocks, front and rear wheel bearings (press), master cylinder, steel brake lines, calipers, pads, rotors and added a stiffer rear sway bar. Rides like it is 1990 again.

Need to complete the body work and repaint (Y49 yellow) and then I can move onto the motor. Have my eye set on either a B16A (170bhp) or a B18C5 (200bhp) motor. Time will tell. but it will move nicely after...

Link to build thread IF interested: THREAD LINK. The fun stuff starts on PAGE 11.
