What did you do to your mini today?
Retrofitted black radio and a/c controls for some better looks and more functionality...sirius disappeared as soon as I turned my car on but bluetooth works and connects to my phone but I need a microphone for my car and I need a wire that goes from the back of the USB to the back of the radio for that work. HD radio also works perfectly as well...no extra parts needed.

I've wondered about doing this to my 2009. Did you buy the bits new? What all did you have to purchase?
I found everything on ebay. Got the A/C controls for about $35 dollars a couple months ago and I came across the radio, cd player, bezel, and a harmon kardon amp which I will never use for around $200 dollars. Everything is used of course. The volume is moved to the speedo cluster and that is why you need to buy the bezel so the cd player will fit. The radio and cd player came out of a 2012. Like I said before, it has USB but I need a wire to go from the back of the plug to the radio and I can't find one (if anyone knows where I can get this that would be a big help). My phone connects to bluetooth no problem. I can make and receive calls but I don't have a mic in my car (again, if anyone knows where I can get one with the wiring, that would be great). Sirius menu worked for a bit until I cranked my car. Got me kind of wanting to buy a tuner now lol. And I get all the local HD radio channels...of three of them lol...nothing extra required.

Looks great!
What plans do you have for your old cd player?
Mine just quit, didn't use it very much since I listen mostly to my iPod, still I would like to replace it.

Started the install of the Sony XDP-PK1000 (dsp/4ch amp, 12" sub w/300 watt amp, ipod dock, remote control) on my boost stereo ('12 hardtop). Ran power from battery to boot for sub, used stock ground point aft of rear speaker, using fuse 6 as switched power for DSP, waiting on parts to build a X9331 speaker splice (shipped today woohoo) then have to run many many wires from under the passenger seat to the driver kick panel

It's MUCH easier to get the signal, and remote turn on by the amp in the left rear of the hatch.
DirtyMINI - Nice job. Did everything work ?
"it has USB but I need a wire to go from the back of the plug to the radio and I can't find one (if anyone knows where I can get this that would be a big help) "
Which wire , single USB, USB / aux in ?
There should be a wire that runs to the ceiling up by the front toggle / overhead lights. Did you install that one ? If you did I can get you the mic.
Does the new deck (8/2010+) version sound more clear w/ the HIFI system?
Thanks and you should post up a DIY.

I'm making a X9331 speaker splice harness so I can get signal from the deck and then put it back to the stock speakers. I don't have an amp in the left rear hatch, I have the boost stereo.
I really like the way that you did not go with the MSD coil, while I like the red color I understand that they have been know to sometimes cause problems with the ECU.
I also like the way you have the wires coming UP and not folded over.

I did some research before buying a new ignition coil, and yes, I decided to go with OE. I got an STI coil (made in Germany) and the wires are Kingsborne, I got them from OutMotoring.com. So far, they work fine. Hopefully I won't get any problems with the ECU. I might reset it using the steps found in one of the forums here:
