What did you do to your mini today?
Techincally it was yesterday since it is now after midnight...
Installed Ohlins R&T coilovers with Vorshlag camber plates up front, Powerflex top bushings and Helix lower control arms in the back.
Only had a quick test drive and there's a few rattles I need to find (sway bar links I think) but wow! Now with even more go-kart handling!

Added the Cravenspeed shorty antenna and front license plate holder. Don't even have my plate yet. Awaiting 3M Di noc carbon fiber vinyl to recover my mirror caps and scuttles. I don't like the green....lol. Vinyl should be here this week and next weekend I will apply it.
Took Fred for a ride in the hill country twisties and returned to San Antonio via IH 10. Averaged 34 mpg. Not bad given over half the miles were city and hill country roads. When I hit the highway the mpg meter was reading 29 mpg. By the way, it is not very accurate...I computed mileage based on miles driven vs gallons used.

If I may expand to describe what I have done in the past two weeks, not just today, it would include (1) replace dead H/K amp with one I bought and set aside in anticipation years ago, (2) replaced front pads and rotors, (3) replaced plastic pipe that runs from air filter box to the throttle body, (4) replaced air filter, (5) did oil and filter change, (6) replaced fuel filter, (7) checked spark plug torque, and (8) had dealer perform the power steering pump and fan recall.

Changed front brakes to Hawk HPS. Also remembered how much I hate the rear brake sensor. Took over an hour to try and fit it back into its place till finally I said screw it... cut it off and tied the 2 ends together. Hope that'll be the end of the brake light. And if not then screw it, Ill live with the light.
Nothing!....I'm just happy the thing is running again. Was in the shop for a bad water pump and leaking lower radiator hose. This is about one and a half months after getting the thermostat replaced. Oh....and someone hit the crap out of the boot while parking (Saw the video camera footage, but couldn't make out the plate)
Bought an OEM roof rack and bike (race) mount, but may end up selling it because the bike can fit in the boot with the seats folded down.

Finished putting in new rear shocks, new front struts, new front strut mounts, new front axles on both sides, drained and replaced transmission fluid, new belt tensioner with new belt. Mini is renewed and rejuvenated!
More interior work to come this weekend. New front seats, emergency brake gator, handle and mats. Soon a new JCW shift **** and a shift gator.
Mini has almost 127,000 miles.

Ordered my Complete JCW Exhaust System! I have been wanting this for a while but well it is expensive. I ordered it through my local independent MINI repair shop, who ordered it from the local MINI Dealer, but passed the savings on to me.
Quoted from the MINI Dealer 1300.oo$
Local Shop (Maitland Importers, Orlando Fl) 1000.oo$
Now of course I got that price as he is going to be doing the install work also, but even with the install its cheaper than the deal for just the exhaust.
I will be replacing my IE Exhaust system which has developed a wicked rattle. It was cheap and sounded great, but it was built like complete cr@p, and I would not suggest this setup for anyone.
Pictures to follow soon.
I am also going to have the idler pulley re-built, the bushings in the damper are shot! The shop will be replacing them with sealed bearings, this should be better than the OEM rubber bushings.

finished installing my checkered roof graphics finally. 9.25" white vinyl squares applied individually. turned out mostly straight and "square" but the front row turned out a bit uneven, though you can only tell from certain angles, and most people probably won't notice (hopefully).
