2004 R53 MC40 #211 JCW - Removed and stripped the Headliner. Getting ready to recover and re-install. (ordered material) I need to order 2 of the yellow panel clips...they didn't survive.

I took the time to pull the side panels completely out, I'll vacuum and clean prior to re-installing them.

I did not know that the rear pillar covers are tethered, so I ended up having to leave them hanging.

I will also replace the foam rear panel filters, they are in sad shape.

Washed the car, and locked it up until ready for reassembly.

Motor on!

Post up pics of that interior.

-JCW Shifter without the red top, but red shift pattern... like the one you have pictured with the red stitching on the gaitor.
-JCW hand brake gaitor - like the one you have pictured.

Also installed a new main toggle switch panel (for rear fog lights) with the toggle, and had MINI activate the rear fog lights (reprogram the ECU) --funny how some MINI dealers say you have to "purchase" the fog lights when for a 2013 MCS they're ALREADY THERE, just need to be activated via ECU reprogram w/BMW codes!
-Just received H-Sport comp RSB and NM Engineering Ti Heat Shield. To be installed next weekend! Whah-hoo!

No, it is the replacement part for the cold side to intake on the right side of the engine bay, replacing the big coupled rubber hose. If you still have it, it would replace or delete the noise maker Y. Pricey sucker. But it works. No leaks!

Interesting! I didn't know they made that for our N14 engines! Or is it an N18 part? How much is pricey?

Griz, I think it is a universal replacement. I ultimately found the part number at my local dealer under the part plates for 2011 R60! Alternatives don't seem to be available any longer. I believe it applies to all turbo'd cars with the exception of the F cars of course.

R60 huh? How about that! The reason I ask on price is I have the NM Engineering equivalent and wondered which one is the least expensive.

Oh! Sorry. Exactly has them at about $66. I paid a little more for immediate need and gratification. $75 with tax.

Drove 220 miles to Dealer to have 1st scheduled maintenance performed. Oil change, filter change, inspection. ( I had changed oil and filter at 1500miles and 5000miles). The CBS indicator was on at 8520miles. The car runs great, no issues to report. I plan on continuing the oil changes at 5000mile intervals.
Dealer found right front rim had small ding on inside rim. Gave me a quote $355.00 to replace rim. After I informed him the rims were covered by insurance purchased when I bought the Coupe S, He told me it wasn't leaking air and would be fine without changing It out.
The dealer gave the coupe a courtesy wash and they did an excellent job on the Mini clean up, looks better than when originally delivered.
The 220 mile drive home was fun down historic Route 66 and the cool air had the Coupe S engine even more responsive than it usually is.

I have enjoyed every mile of the 8740 on the clock.

Keep motoring!

Removed the old chrome headlight and taillight bezels and installed OEM Black ones. Looks a million times better than the plasti dip I had on the chrome ones before.

Today my '02 R53 will turn over 100,000 miles. To celebrate, I bought it a Cravenspeed oil dipstick (hint: it's not a stick at all...) and I've ordered a replacement for my old hacked up JCW Aero kit front bumper, grills, and fog light covers. My hoodstripes are 12 years old so they're looking pretty ragged and I have a couple of big rock dings in the hood so I may spring for a repaint on the hood, as well.

Never had a car I've enjoyed as much as this one!

Installed my new tsudo exhaust, built for 02-03 models on my 04'. Modified a bracket and fit like a glove. Too loud though but I can fix that

Yea, its just the N14 6/2010+ back intake tube for the Turbo S engines. In 6/2010 they got rid of the sound tube, but they kept it for the N14 Turbo JCW engines up to 2012. Used as stock on the N18 Turbo engines.

Makes 7 & 8 as one piece and then eliminates the 10 , 13, 16. You will get less noise on the interior with this simple mod.

Intake Manifold - Lower/ Upper Rear 13719806688

Thanks

I'm not sure where it originated, here, European cars, or date start, but you could by the part #8 without the Y extension for the "Noise Maker Delete" mod. I had done that way long ago and found that the plastic piece where the Y is in this diagram was leaking air at one of the molded seams of the plastic. It is my understanding that you cannot buy that Y-less part anymore, and I think the Y piece is becoming extinct from the dealers as well, from what they tell me. All in favor of the one-piece replacement.

Swapped the Slipstreams for a set of Rota RBs in Royal Black.

Now if anyone needs a set of flat black Slipstreams in 16x7 (15K miles, one with some curb rash) let me know.
