Cleaned my windows, filled with gas... Oh yeah, and my Black Jack antenna came in! The first mod on my car (so far). Planning on a few more to pop up later.

I just received a call from the Colorado Springs BMW and they said right now its looking like a lower radiator hose that was faulty. They are getting the part tmrw from Denver MINI and then trying to pressurize the system and test it to make sure it wont overheat anymore. I just hope it didn't go too hot for too long..FINGERS CROSSED. I dont think the head or engine is damaged because it starts right up with no codes and doesn't have any smoke coming out of the tailpipe etc.

Think its pretty cool you have them close in color.

a2oc - That was one of the other ones we ordered in. They updated the handle with the newer JCW logo now. Thanks for the order.

Painting that side-piece looks really nice. I may have to look into that for mine.

I had Helix in Philly install new PowerFlex Control Arm bushings and Front Sway Bar bushings. There are 104,000 miles on my MINI and the front end was loose. Seems alot tighter now, getting a front end alignment tomorrow. It was more work than I wanted
Next up, replace the oil cooler gaskets this weekend, seems like there's always something to do.

I had my package from ECS tuning stolen off my door step. I'm leaving out of town till Friday and I'm just wild pissed off.

It's a box full of door clips so I'm sure the ****** who stole them has no idea WTF to do with them.

EdEx has been called

ECS has been called

It's definitely my hand brake handle on the website as my packing slip got 'photo department' written on it

Hey NAM! Had some down time at work and decided to pick up some small items.

CravenSpeed ScanGaugeII mount (was sick of the double-sided velcro keep coming loose)

CravenSpeed Shift Well Cover + BW Little Nicky Shift **** (interesting as the **** feels lighter and a little taller yet the throws engage more smoothly)

Today, I replaced the cabin air filter with a DENSO charcoal air filter that was never replaced in 11 years. Check out this nastiness!

Had a strut blow out a couple of weeks ago before I went on vacation. Planned on ordering a set before I came back so they would be waiting for me when I got home. Checked my email a few days before vacation was over and ECS sent me one of those wonderful emails with Koni FSD struts on sale. Ordered a set for my 08 Cooper. They were sitting in front of my garage when I got home at 11pm last night. Woke up this morning and installed them. WHAT A TRANSFORMATION!!!! I keep cringing when I see a bump I used to hit, and now there is no more drama. The car is smoooth and solid. Not a single jarring bump to be found. Even the big ones! I picked up 5 mm wheel spacers a couple of weeks ago and I installed them as well. The car feels great. Better than it has ever felt!

I am getting ready to perform the a/c coil replacement seen in the how-to seen here. Went out to inspect the engine bay to see how hard it is to remove the serpentine belt using the method used here, and to my amazement, the previous owner had already installed the ALTA 15% pulley onto my Bernie! I've had the car since July of 2011 and had no idea! Happy day!

With that said, the belt looked pretty worn, so I need to know which belt to buy to replace it... Presumably from Autozone or some other brick-and-mortar auto parts store.

Good luck! it is pretty straightforward. Getting to the compressor is not that bad when you put the car into service mode. Removing the belt is really easy too. Routing the belt back is straightforward but can take a little time to get everything right.

Once those items are done, then its 3 bolts I think to get the compressor off. Do you have an impact? That helped me to remove the a/c pulley bolt. Once that is loose just make sure you keep everything in order for when you put it back together. When I did my coil, I had to set the pulley and pull it off 2-3 times because I was encountering some drag when the pulley would go on. If you get the pulley on just right, you will know! It will spin nicely without any drag. A $100 coil is better than a $1,900 dealership repair bill for the compressor. (pre negotiation of course...)

When in doubt, replace that drive belt. It is only a few bucks and gives you peace of mind. Since you have the 15% pulley, some argue to get the JCW belt! Its smaller and still fits. Last time my MINI was at the dealer, I requested the JCW belt and the advisor said he would have to check on that for me. After a few minutes (presume speaking with the mechanics), he said no problem! I have the 15% as well. Something to consider.

Good luck!
