Thanks guys, yeah it fits perfectly, such a tight fit that I actually lined the outside of the light in foam tape to keep it from damaging the bumper.

As far as durability goes, it's an aluminum housing with a polycarbonate lens. Rigid Industries has one of the best warranties out there, and they're built for ridiculous off road abuse. This one in particular was on my truck for almost 2 years being put under tremendous use and abuse. So..... no I'm not worried.

Quite cold again yesterday in the teens above zero, but roads were dry. I had to do some errands... recycle oil, get an oil filter and a 5qt jug of oil for the Winter car and didn't see any melting or wet areas on the road, even with the sunshine.

When I got home at mid afternoon I decided to back the Mini out of the garage and take it for a drive. Headed north around the bigger lakes again, all frozen. Saw quite a bit of activity on them... ice fishing, snowmobiling and even some kids skating on one of the smaller ponds. Good to see that. Got back home as it was getting dark, so spent a good hour and a half on the road.

Clouded up in the evening and started to snow around 8 pm. Woke up to 5 inches of new snow on the ground. Now it's raining hard, and the temperature is 43 degrees and climbing after that 15.3 degrees below zero Sunday morning. The dusty Mini in the garage might get a bath out there in a while.

Anyway, a nice drive... top up since it was really too dusty out on the roads to put it down. Never know up here when we'll have good dry roads to drive on again. Another snow event is expected by the weekend. That Southwest weather sure sounds good about now!!

Loving the blacked out look. Think you'll do the door handles as well?

Yep. I have a can of wheel paint left over. If the weather holds, I'll black them out tomorrow.

Awesome! Did you do the gas cap as well? How about the Cooper S decal and MINI wing badges on the boot and bonnet? I think that's all that would be left chrome wise.

Kind of. I left the emblem on the boot chrome, but did this to the hood emblem when I did my stripes:

The only other chrome I plan to leave on the car is the "S" on the side scuppers..

Plastidip? How many can did it take you for the wheels?

Looks awesome! I want to lower mine but Minnesota winters make it tough. Maybe I'll just get bigger wheels for the summer

No. I used Duplicolor wheel paint. I bought the wheels used for $100 and they were pretty dinged up. I blasted them down to bare metal, then primed/painted them. In all I used 3 cans of etching primer. 1 can primer filler and 4 cans of paint. All told, I paid $185 for the new wheels.

Great project and a good looking job. Like the change in character those wheels provide for your Cooper S. And all for $185!!!

Sun came out today. Temperature got up to 35-36 degrees around noon. Started tinkering out in the garage this morning and noticed the dust on the Mini's sides, rear and wheels. Brought out the hose, bucket, soap and microfiber wash towel.

A little chilly, but got it washed and dried. Looks a little better, at least. The wheels and tires were about the same color as the sides of the car. The rear bumper was really loaded with a lot more dirt than I had thought was there.

It would have gotten a power wash if I had put it outside during yesterday's downpours. Rainstorm took about 6-7 inches of snow away.

Mostly just been driving him lately and enjoying the new struts and brakes.

I made an appointment for next week to get these things done:
-alignment
-coolant flush
-fix p/s intake hose leak
-replace drive belt

And I told the shop that I want the car to have a good foundation for adding more power. Later this year I want to upgrade the supercharger pulley and exhaust and then get the car tuned.

Driving around and enjoying a Mini is fun... but we really do need a picture or two on here.

Oh man! He's so dirty right now, though! :embarrass:
Maybe after a car wash this weekend.

Forgot to add to the above: I asked the shop to do an oil change for me as well.

Thats a good list. Show them the DIY's on here and its should be very quick in and out of the shop. Its an indy shop correct. Intake and exhaust would be good for the spring after all the main maintenance is done.
