I've listened to exhaust clips over n over. I've settled on the Nividia. Though I still consider the Milltek but I'm pretty sure on the N1. I find the N1 has just a touch deeper tone that suits my ear. Love it.

A month away from funds...can't wait.

Winter tire season is almost over here, and I just remembered my summer tires are bald...so I ordered a new set of tires. Michelin Premier A/S. Hopefully they won't be as noisy, rough, or crappy on wet asphalt as the factory Pirelli Euforias were.

Make sure you let us know the difference the new tires make.

Nice... I was so glad to ditch the Euforias... I have never looked back...

Still amazes that Pirelli charged over $225/tire (back in the day) for those things... I see the P7 Cinturato has replaced it at $172/tire now...

I did notice a difference. Mainly at higher RPMs and at WOT. At the upper end of the power band the engine sort of fluttered as it starved for fuel, albeit not enough to pop a misfire fault code. At first I thought it could have been bad gas but I typically use the same place and gasoline (Sunoco 93 octane). I tried a different brand twice (Gulf 93 octane) and noted the same symptoms were present. I then added the 104+ octane boost addictive just as a test but had the same results. After that I ran a small amount of non-ethanol gasoline (available in limited supply at a local station) and noted the problem mostly went away. After doing some digging I found that JCW found the OEM injectors didn't flow enough fuel at high rpms and had essentially the same symptoms. With E10 & E15 fuel being more prevalent now (which sucks, IMHO) it was an easy decision on what upgrade to do next.

After the installation I noted the absence of flutter, little to no pinging, and smoother pulling all through the power band. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade, even on a stock motor. If you plan on running an under drive pulley, I'd highly recommend installing the upgraded injectors to prevent leaning out of the fuel/air mixture and thus grenading your motor.

After some consideration the 380cc injectors are perfectly adequate, I may still change over to 550cc injectors but not until after I have the software tune performed. This is because I may be installing an RMW head with an upgraded camshaft but that is a ways down the road. I'll update this later on.

Today's update: replaced the right/front motor mount and hardware as it was collapsed. The car now feels much smoother as there is less vibration being transmitted through the body. This is what it's supposed to be like when new.

After that was done I had ASM Performance do the ECU software update. Because it's raining out and also rush hour I wasn't able to get on it (I live 5 minutes away from their shop) but preliminary feeling is there is more power. The wheels kept spinning so I'll reserve my full assessment until dryer and less crowded road conditions are present. That will probably be Sunday as we are supposed to be getting a wintery mix on Saturday (Boo! Hiss!)

I'll update Sunday or next week.

Finally ordered a stock BPV, new wiper blades (mine were disintegrating), and some odd bolts missing on the heat shield. Set a date with a buddy to install the CAM sensor to hopefully fix this starting/bogging issue and install the stock BPV again. I cant wait to see how Barnaby feels when he is healthy again!

Reading through the last couple of pages makes my small change pretty small potatoes, but I de-badged my 2009 R55s.

Cleaned up mess of spilled power steering fluid inside engine compartment and on underside of engine from this past Friday's p/s pump recall service at dealership. I guess rags were not made available to MINI techs... Oh, and the p/s fluid level in reservoir (from their refill) is low, at the bottom of the stalk, so I'll be buying a bottle of Pentosin tomorrow to bring to proper level... Talk about sloppy work!

WOW I would make them go and clean all that up. Also how did you quailify for the waterpump recall?

One of my pet peeves! Hand the service department a clean car... and you get back a mess, mostly in the engine compartment and the interior of the car. Please let the dealership know that you had to clean the mess. There's no good excuse or reason for that at all.

It wasn't the water pump. It was the power steering pump that was recalled.

I understand that popping the hoses off the pump will lead to fluid spillage, but it was dripping wet everywhere... No way it was wiped down.

I didn't even bother to mention the "complimentary car wash," where somehow, the car's exterior was more soiled (dried soap scum on the paint) than when it arrived for the service...

Only positive is that the new power steering fan they installed as part of the recall is much quieter than the one they replaced.

Sometimes no wash is way better than a complimentary wash. Whomever was washing the cars that day, didn't take the time to properly rinse your car.

I watched a car getting scrubbed with a broom looking thing that was being dipped in a bucket of thoroughly dirty suds at a Saturn (RIP) dealer quite a few years back. That was the moment I ran back in and asked them to please not wash my car after the service was done. It was Winter and the cars were all covered in salt and sand. My car wasn't dirty and I really didn't want the swirl marks on my wagon's medium blue paint, even if it was just my old Winter beater.
