What did you do to your mini today?

signed Mini up for physical education
Like a good parent, I signed Mini up for physical education which I would also be attending. Made a good offsite checklist. Washed and cleaned Mini especially the dirty butt so no one can mock. Mini is sporting new grippy sneakers so he will run fast.
Are those Kosei's?
Was from Amazon.... Been tracking the price of it for months, ever since I noticed a flash sale down to $410 back in April that I missed. Been watching it every day since end of May. Algorithmic pricing at its finest! I was going to pass the deal to NAM when it stalled and started going up a few weeks ago. Then it started dropping 5% per day. Woot!
That has to be the deal of the century here in NAM.
Drove my '05 S to the dealer to get an oil filter kit for the kids '13 Justa. Two mechanics outside on a smoke break asked me to give it a good pull as I was leaving and of course I obliged, they wanted to hear the 'turbo' they said - I said it's supercharged and gave them a nice rip of exhaust note too. They applauded.
Got home and did a simple oil change and rotated the tires on the Justa - going to need new shoes on that before winter.

Pulled off a rear wheel on my 2017 F57 S convertible. Spent some time measuring the wheel/tire and teaching myself about wheel sizes, diameters, offset, clearance, and generally looking over the suspension setup. While I was at it I measured the rear sway bar - 21mm.
Finally getting a decent understanding of how all this stuff works. A good day.

I had a very ambitious weekend planned.
1)Front End Service Mode to take care of the Crank Sensor leak
2)SC Oil Service
3)15% Pulley Reduction
4)Cooler Plugs
5)Idler Pulley Replacement, (shrill sound was getting too loud)
I should have started on Friday like I planned, started Saturday around 1PM, I ran out of weekend was not going to have time to do the SC oil server, so 4 out of 5 wasn't too bad...

If those 2 mechanics didn't know the difference between a R53 and R56, I would never take my car there for them to do anything....
Someone there has a nice R56 with good looking exterior mods - I would like to find out who that is. I am tempted to let them do the oil change on the kids R56 next time - they have a barista, massage chairs, and pastries.
The engine light is on again on the Justa, with multiple misfires, I'm sure it is the HPFP. Going to take it in and get ready to hear all the out of warranty parts that need replaced first.
Oh, and I cleaned the coil for #3 and #4 hoping it would correct the misfire on my R53. It ran better on the test drive. But had a couple of misses in low RPM WOT, like if I left it in 3rd for a corner.
Washed and waxed the R56 - told my daughter she needed to vacuum the interior - school starts Tuesday so it better get done tomorrow.

Over the weekend I took it for about a 1,000 mile road trip from Chicago to Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois to watch the eclipse. Dogs in the hatch, cargo carrier on the hitch, and the mini took it all in stride. Performed without a hitch and averaged 26-28 mpg throughout the trip. Not too bad all things considered. Pretty happy so far, now I just need to fix that darn A/C!
Roadster got its last "free" oil change and service at Mini Dealership today. As dealerships go, Mini of Peabody, MA has been very good. No pressure applied at any point from a friendly and quite laid-back group of people.
Turned out to be great afternoon weather for a top down drive back along the coast of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Had to stop in a couple of places to take in the ocean. The picture below was taken between Pebbles Point on the far right of the frame and Cape Neddick distant left along Rt 1A in Maine at high tide. There's a whole lot more sandy beach exposed during low tide along the left side of the picture.
