Reverted to stock tune last week due to a worrisome power surge in my BT tune. ECU seemed to want to massively overboost under wide open throttle – from 22psi (which itself seems high) to over 30 for half a second. Bytetronik is checking out the logs and will send a new map. Meanwhile, avoiding blowing up my engine, no matter how fun that overboost surge feels.

Reason: Clarify timeframe

That is certainly concerning, having read of a few instances of blown engines. Do you have any mods that could account for whatever normal F series tune would not be compatible. I'd tread/drive very carefully from this point on, as you seem to be doing.

Nope... super conservative. No intercooler, no downpipe or exhaust, no intake, no engine mods of any sort. All my mods aside from the tune have been suspension and chassis.
Hard info on “blown” engines is hard to come by; I only know some details of one (JohnJotah) and that’s not enough to extrapolate a trend. So yes, I’m playing it safe.
Based on zero actual knowledge (on the Internet that makes me an expert) I theorize that the F-series ECU may get optimistic about its overboost potential and a too-aggressive torque target and fueling may prompt it to let the turbo spool up higher than it ought to. But this is speculation on my part; I’m trying to understand a black box system here!
Ha! Good choice. I was lucky since mine was the prototype for the F cars. Chris painted it and installed it for me. He carries some good stuff. I have several of his mods on my car.

Changed oil to Mobil 1 0w40 for the upcoming cooler months. Was running a thick 10w60 LiquidMoly as recommended by an independent specialist but I think it was too thick. Let’s see how the 0w40 is. First drive felt a lot smoother and relaxed if that makes any sense.
Just received some new parts from RaceSeng for my F56. These were just recently listed in their catalog for the 3rd Gen cars. I’ll be installing them later today and will start a new thread with an review of the parts. Included is the Tug Plate license plate mount, Tug Plate View GoPro Mount, Tug tow hook, and tow hook GoPro mount. And last, but not least is the new improved V2 Tug Tool. Tug Plate Tug Tool
Just had my tires rotated. While it was on the lift I did a test fitting of my GoPro on the new Raceseng Tug Plate (license plate mount) with an integrated camera mount. Nice piece of gear. Sometime this week I’ll make a thread evaluating Raceseng’s new goodies for the 3rd Gen cars.
Installed a JMTC Super 42 along with a JCW air tube (removed insert) and a set of one step colder Brisk spark plugs. Swapped out a few other things while I was in there that came with the install kit. I had previously installed the JCW air box along with the M7 charge pipe and Wagner "street" intercooler. Uninstalled my Accessport because I didn't want to find out the hard way the map I wouldn't play nice with the bigger turbo.
