Is there a good thread on how to remove the headliner and redo the cloth?
There’s too many to list. No specific one i could recommend. I just watched some vids and searched up r53 headliner removal.
for the record, it took about 40 min (I bagged and labeled bits) and I did not remove any weather stripping, or pillar trim.

To coincide with @madcanvis - I saw a couple of youtube videos (some unnecessarily lengthy), years ago and completed my headliner removal, recovered, reinstalled in about 8hrs.
I have an R53 w/sunroofs which made it a bit easier to gently flex and slide it out (without cracking), from the rear hatch and without having to loosen or remove a single pillar.
I only had to pull down the upper rear hatch rubber weatherstrip/seal for the R&R.
Others have stated that they did have to loosen their pillars. YMMV.
Packed her up and 4.5 hours down to Tennessee. Quick bath, wheel swap, dragon time, pretty much how my next couple of days will be like. Daughter is with me, spring break started after school. Yes she’s dirty, drove in and out of rain on way down.

Changed the oil, recharged the a/c, replaced some broken clips on the rocker and wheel arch trim, installed new front lip and lower bumper aero piece, installed new speakers and tweeters (although i will redo the mounting bracket once the correct one arrives), replaced a window regulator and all new door clips, new shift ****, a good wash inside and out, and new OEM all weather floor mats. Finished it off by polishing and clear coating the headlights.
I just got this car and I’m waiting on a huge amount of parts to arrive but it’s been fun to work on so far! So easy!

I called around, and found a local shop will do it for under $200 bucks, not worth my time IMO to do this myself. Plus they have a variety of fabrics to choose from like suede 😎

I do wish it was dark silver because that color is beautiful, but it's actually pure silver. I'll get some full car photos after my windshield is replaced (I have all the trim around the windshield removed right now and my new windshield showed up damaged). I was planning on this being a very low budget daily since I got it for free, but my car OCD has already taken over and I've spent too much hahaha.
The speakers were definitely a worthwhile investment because the blown stockers were painful to listen to. I'm no audiophile but I think they sound pretty good; clarity was my concern, not ear hammering volume.

Me too. I found a shop that said they could do it for 'a-buck-75' ($175) when I was out in snOrlando (FL). I didn't care for their flippant attitude - so I passed. Did mine myself almost 7years later for about 50bucks.
Although, mine turned out beautiful and was not an awfully difficult task, I think having a good qualified professional shop that does headliners/interiors all day long for around $200 would be a prudent choice to save you any headaches.

I did the headliner myself because the only local shop I trusted to do good work quoted $700. They're free to charge what they want but that's obscene, in my opinion. I'd happily pay $200 (or $300) rather than do it again myself. I enjoy working on our cars but the headliner job was no fun.
Nothing shocking or electrifying...
Today I received and replaced my 15y/o 150W 110v power inverter with an inexpensive (really cheap) Bestec 300W'er.
My old one began and kept blowing the F32 cigarette lighter fuse. As a result it was causing 2wo of my gauges (voltage & oil temp), to go out as well.
Since now, living in an apartment, I only began to fully appreciate how indispensable these little things were when I soon realized, I had no way of running a small vacuum cleaner, Dremmel or even my soldering iron for doing on site/in place mods to my car...without having to run a 400ft extension cord from my unit.
170k mile fuel filter, anyone? I'm sure the fuel pump will be much happier now with a fresh filter and all the gross fuel and chunks cleaned out of the filter housing. I also installed new shift and e-brake boots since the originals were torn.
No photo's but topped up (1/4 cup) the washer fluid as I'm heading to the Dragon's Tail on Sunday!!
Just thought it's funny that the original washer fluid was still in there as the car's approaching 5 years in June. That's nothing special for you Southern Cali or Arizona folks but in New England.....

Oil change, brake fluid, wheel alignment, summer wheels mounted, and washed. The latter was the courtesy reach around from the dealer after an expensive day.
I admit, I have a wandering eye but she still sparks joy. Even more so with the sun out.
Exoforma Plastic trim restore. Night and day difference.
I have also been tracking down the stupid trifecta lights and a bonus brake light. Don’t buy the bosche sensors for the rear, my tip. I cleaned my old ones up and all lights are gone for now. Found codes as I dug deeper, since it didn’t see anything on!the rears, the brake light was on and no speedometer. New OEM sensors on way just in case.
Got a new phone over the winter w/ wireless charging and a case with the Q thing.
My old Sosche magnet (which I love) doesn’t work but the printed downtube phone mounted is awesome! So…
I printed out a tray (dimensions spec’d to my phone and case) and super glued a metal backing.
Came out perfect.
