The curving arrow with yellow background. "Bend the Rules, Rule the Bends"...that was my favorite Mini tag line!! It looks great next to my checkered badge!

Installed an ALTA Cold Air Intake 2.0. A HUGE upgrade over the used and abused OEM filter. Throttle response is better. I LOVE the sound - Darth Vader breathing action when flucuating the throttle and a mean jet engine sound over 4k RPMs.

Over the weekend, I did my pre-summer detail (4.5 hrs!) which did not include the engine bay and wrapped my Boot Handle in Dry CF, I think it came out pretty well... some pics: (I apologize for shitty iPhone pics in advance)

Removed and cleaned the boot handle but upon closer inspection it still had a lot of grime spots still left on it..

So I busted out my Griot's clay kit!

After wrapping...

Back on the car...

And almost forgot, I got one of these... Amazing little sticker for tall people (I'm 6'2") or anyone constantly bending their necks trying to see the damn lights. (It was still drying when I took this pic)

After washing with Meguiars, I clayed the entire car... I do this at least twice a year, but the more the better and if you can afford it, pay someone to save your back!

Before claying...

After...

My baby...

pretty good Reflection of the pipes, with some dust already on the car...

I know, I should start my own build thread, lol...

Hey Gothmdoc, while you've got the arm on Lyle, you might wanna look at his CF scuttles and gas cap, too.

Indeed, I am signed up for CF scuttles, CF belt line and blacking out tail light and headlight rings, and black grille surrounds. The question remains though, I am not sure if I should go with shiny black or matte finish? I know the JCW black grille is shiny and i think it looks good, but I have a feeling Matte finish would look better for the headlight/taillight rings... What do you guys think?

I think its really just a matter of opinion/personal taste. Personally, I'm going with the satin (matte) for all my blacking out. I just think it would look cool with the Midnight Black color. I think you could get away with either and either would look great. But if you're doing the CF, I'd go with the satin for the blacking out.

Got Seamus' windshield replaced, but the top molding piece that the glass company used looks like ***, with large gaps between it and the gutter pieces on top of the A pillars. I suppose the only way to go is with a proper MINI replacement piece?

Don't think I like it. I would rather have the BMW/MINI wing inserts from Aesthetic Creations, but I didn't really want to wait the number of weeks/months it takes to get stuff from them. I'll have to wait a few days at least though, because I've got to prep the MINI wing and retape it. I'll prolly Plasti-dip it while I have it off.

...lol ..its fun having something like that to look forward to.

..the only other chrome left than those pieces will be the "cooper" letters, which I may (like many others here) just remove them..(when wife isn't around)

..or paint black and reinstall.
