Need somemore of your Mini knowledge..

As I work at repairing the mini I need to buy a rear view mirror. The original was gone.
The mirror has 5 wires going to it. What features do I need to get to get the correct mirror.

Next is the right side mirror. The drivers mirror turns in.Is there a look difference in a standard fixed mirror compaired to a fold in mirror? Yard asked me and I didnt know. What makes me made is someone took the mirror cover off the drivers mirror so I need to buy a mirror and then a pair of covers to match..

The windshield has the moister sensor. Can I fasten this to a standard windshield? Does the box come on a visibility package glass? Anyone know??

I need a full set of head rests..Yes 4! When I call salvage yards they ask why I need 4 of them. Someone took them! jeeeeshhhh..Why???.Who knows.

Thanks...Jim

The car must not have been secured well enough in the junk yard you bought it from.

The rear-view mirror you have is the auto dim, and also has the keyfob receiver in it, I think. Mine is the very early "dumb" mirror. Power folding mirrors, I believe, are a separate and distinct unit from the standard ones, and not simply one modified with motors and gears. I know it is possible to retrofit them onto a car, but you could equally get away with using a standard manual fold mirror. I'm also reasonably sure that the rain sensing wipers need a special windshield, but I could be wrong.

I hope mirror doesnt have keyfob receiver in it.. That will be a pain to get reprogrammed. Mini dealer is 110 miles away..

Also need the 2 scuddles..Stolen also I guess. Anyone have some plain ones they would sell cheap let me know. I am going to do something really different and will ruin the original style assemblys..Maybe I will scrap them but want to try something custom.Hate to buy new ones to experiment on.

If the style scuttle doesn't matter, you can pick up a set of basic MC scuttles for $10 from OutMotoring.com
