The one that got away here was a manual transmission. And I could build one that looks similar on the outside, but for me, the prettiest part was the inside of the car. You can't add those seats on the builder anymore.

I know that if I just settle for almost what I want, I'll be unhappy. The good thing is that I don't HAVE to get another car now. I don't have any time constraints, so I'll just have to be patient and wait for one to show up used. One WILL show up.

One thing I would do is to call the sales manager of the dealership you were dealing with and let him/her know how dissapointed and upset you are about the whole misunderstanding. Go straight to them and not the salesperson you initially dealt with. Ask them if therre is any way that they can help you search for a new or used one. I'm not sure that this would do any good, but it can't hurt any.

Sorry you lost out on the Mayfair... Next time, don't hesitate because there are only so many out there...
Interesting approach by the dealer. My experience with MINI of Dallas was also very low pressure. Their staff were all excellent and a pleasure to work with.

I just looked at the listing on the Momentum MINI site, it says it's a 6-speed manual. If I were you I'd be on the phone with that dealer at 9AM tomorrow when they open! My husband wanted a Mayfair and our local dealer sold the last one they had 2 days before we went to look for a MINI for him. Get that car!!! And then post lots of pictures!!
